Too harsh?

I just sent this message to Ted Cruz. Maybe I shouldn't have. I have had a couple of beers. Oh well it is how I feel.

Unlike you, I was born and raised in Texas. I will never lie about your Dad or denigrate your wife's looks like our current President did. You have no backbone! I am not liberal, but I believe in Democracy. You do not. You believe in power and are embracing elements of humanity that my father was drafted to fight against. My aim is not to get a response from you. I have zero respect for you. I just want you to know, as a white, Christian, rancher who owns guns, I do not agree with you trying to overturn the will of legitimate elections of multiple states. You disgust me. That is my main message. You are un-Democratic and un-American. That is my opinion. Now go suck up to the guy that denigrated your father and wife.

Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately, in Texas white landowners who are perceived as potential Republican swing votes can catch the attention of asshole repukes. Everything (with possibly the exception of the "I'm not Liberal" comment) was dead on true. It is true I might not be a "liberal" on DU. However, this is not the case in terms of Texas standards.

Have guns for different jobs, hammers for the same, hound dogs grace my porch, my first name is two names. Live out in the woods, with the squirrels and deer, Biden sign in front, no proud boy do I fear. Time to take a stock of who represents our state, see them for what they are with their money and their hate. Let's run'em outa town and vote some other slate, then care for all our neighbors in this great lone star state!

I guess I got a little carried away, waxing poetic and all. It's just I felt like I had to say something to this rancher's comments about Cruise. What hacks me off about Swarmy-Ted is that he uses his preacher style voice to manipulate the brainwashed christians that are trained to respond to that style of intonation. I recognize that voice because when I grew up, we went to church three times a week. There's good in the church, but honestly the congregation is used to being told what to do and not to think. Fake pastor Cruise is more than happy to tell them what to do. If there's a devil, Cruise is definitely a disciple.

In "un-Democratic". That makes it look like a reference to the party. A Republican can be democratic, meaning supporting democracy (even though it's very rare at this time.

Other than that, I think it's perfect.

When I lived there it was customary, if not actually required, to keep a can of beer between one's legs when driving. That was before cup holders sprung up in every possible car interior space (which was probably a Texas-targeted sales gimmick). Automobile journeys were not measured in miles or duration but in beers consumed. I drove through Houston a couple years ago. The place has really grown. What was an easy 2 beer breeze is now a 4 beer drive, or more. In rush hour traffic it could go to a six pack. It used to be a guaranteed 12 pack drive to the Alamo from downtown Galveston. These days it's practically a case just to get past Rosenburg. It's like, as gas mileage improves with the modern auto engines, the beer MPG just keeps going down with the traffic. And with all the drunks on the roads, it's DANGEROUS.
