...but i also get distracted during the pomp and circumstance. Found myself thinking they should just do DNA test on the unknown soldier in the tomb and why didnt Joe match his blue tie to Jills blue..?

but then i see its matched to kamalas :/

I feel what I can only imagine it might feel like for someone who has been released from jail. - just a big emotional release!

It is simple to show respect, courtesy and dignify the occasion. I don't know if i cried because it was relief to see it again or grief for what we lost for 4 years.

Joy, hope, and relief, of course, but offset by the grief that we've all had suppressed for the last four years by the neverending string of daily outrages. Suspect it's going to be quite an emotional rollercoaster for the next little while.

My eyes have leaked multiple times. I have never bothered to watch an inaugural ceremony before. Listening to the words of the Capitol Tour guides has me rethinking about that. Now I know why my parents were excited to tour Washington D.C. I feel huge relief today, and some hope, for the first time in the last four years.
