Isn't 'bloodthirsty media' an old anti-Semitic dog whistle?

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) lashed out over a reported proposal to remove her from one of her committees because of her past controversial comments.

Said Greene: “No matter what Kevin McCarthy does it would never be enough for the hate America Democrats. They are only set out to destroy Republicans, your jobs, our economy, your children’s education and lives, steal our freedoms, and erase God’s creation. And the bloodthirsty media are their henchmen who help them by relentlessly attacking anyone in their path.”

1. I think "blood debt" is the really big anti-Semitic dogwhistle.

I have no doubt crazy-lady is anti-Semitic, but in this case, she's just blithering the usual right-wing hate on any media source that isn't right-wing.

Part of the never-ending culture of grievance among reich-wingers...

6. No. You know what? I'm sorry; it's "blood libel".

I knew I was getting it wrong, but I couldn't remember the actual term.

the term comes from the old "blood and soil" slogan, in which the soil belongs to the state, and the serfs have a blood liability to pay to live on and farm it. I'm pretty sure that's where the Nazis got it.

8. "Blood libel" is an anti-Semitic lie that Jews use the blood of Christians in their ritual food.

"Blood and soil" was a pre-Nazi ultranationalistic German phrase from the 19th century meant to evoke the "purity" of rural living -- that your "racial" stock was related to the quality of the land you farmed, with Nordic/Germans of course being superior. The Nazis picked up the concept. The phrases are not related at all.

their exclusive claim to Germany and the the lands they have conquered. It is still being used by the neo-nazis as a sentimental and nostalgic look back to the times when they were the Master Race.

But it’s remarkable to me that when Margarine Green gets attacked by her own party, Kevin McCarthy, in this case, somehow the Democrats are responsible. I never knew how powerful we must be.

3. Not quite. I believe it was "blood thirsty Jewish bankers" who controlled global media.

At least that was the 20th century iteration of the centuries-old radical "blood libel" antisemitism. Currently, we are living through the 21st Century version of it: Soros controlled global media.
