Lately. I think crypto is likely in long term trouble as state treasures, China being the most out front right now, are exploring using state sponsored Crypto version of their currency.
ETH is decent but lots of factors can play into what you are do with you coin: what price you got in at, how much your holding and what if any diversification you have in your crypto portfolio and if your trying to hodl for a bigger payday longterm or looking to get in and out if it moons.

Any prediction on how much ETH will go to in the short-term (by the end of the year)?

I wouldn't allocate any money I wasn't prepared to lose. And, like all gambles, there's the possibility of winning big. But you have to leave the game and take your winnings at some point.

BTC is a currency, and the primary store of value for crypto assets.

Ethereum is the primary blockchain that most projects work from. There are always contenders to be the next Ethereum, and there are some other blockchains that work better, but they are supposed to do a major update sometime by mid year.

The market cycle almost always sees BTC making the kind of big run up it is doing after one of its halvings (where they cut the # of BTC that can enter into circulation by half), then a run by Ethereum and the other alt coins.

There have been increasing "institutional" entities that have moved into the market, particularly with BTC, including yesterday's announcement that Tesla has 1.5 billion BTC now.

The whole market should continue to run for most of this year, including Ethereum, but know that the market has always had dramatic corrections after these runs, so if you buy now and don't get out before it crests and starts to drop it will very be in the red for a few years for you, but will very likely to rebound well in the next bull market.
