Hot damn, the impeachment managers picked up our story on the lack of permit for the march to the Ca

Hot damn, the impeachment managers picked up our story on the lack of permit for the march to the Capitol. It’s not small, it meant the DC police were unprepared. Trump knew this would happen. When you violate the law and someone dies, it’s called murder. https://gregpalast.com/insider-white-house-warned-march-was-illegal/

Did that order come from the Mayor of DC (a Dem) or from the Pentagon/SecDef wing of the R's? TheRickles Feb 2021 #7
There's a Jan 4th memo from Trump's new SecDef, ordering the National Guard to stand down. lagomorph777 Feb 2021 #10

Everything weakens the House managers' case in this scenario. If the mob had just spontaneously formed up on January 6, the "nobody could have foreseen" defense would be trotted out. Since there is all this evidence of Trump laying the groundwork for months and months throughout the campaign, picking up steam during the 10 weeks between election and congressional certification, and the gathering of the mob on January 6, Senate Republicans now say that that weakens the House managers' case because the riot didn't just come together on the fly, but was meticulously put in motion over the course of several months. Oh, and because Trump said "peacefully" once, he's off the hook for everything else.

didn't just wake up that morning and jet in from around the entire country that morning.
This was organized and orchestrated in advance and executed by the RepubliCONS and Trump.........
It is absolutely a miracle that they didn't succeed, but it wasn't because they didn't try........
.
I'm sure Trump and many RepubliCONs had delusions of wiping out the Vice President, and the entire Legislative branch of Government and immediately going all out to establish their new Tyranny and Fascist Government.......Of this, I have no doubt........

The RepubliCONs have been working on this for FORTY YEARS!, and they will merely acquit Trump and March on, Full Steam Ahead.

that Trump and his team were doing everything possible to make the Insurrection a success. Success being defined as the opportunity to declare martial law and suspend the procedures that would make Joe Biden the 46th President.

That just reeks of a plot with several layers.

I have not seen all of the House Managers' presentation; did they address the delay in giving the order to the Guard.

Hardly a coincidence. If it's not used in the impeachment trial, I am confident it will be an exhibit in the criminal trial.

Absolutely does rise to the level of a criminal trial....and the groundwork is being done as we speak. I wonder if Mitch and Chuck are having a sidebar to trade this scenario against a Republican agreement to vote to impeach?

Not that it would be possible anyway; Schumer doesn't control DOJ.
