Moderna. It's such a relief although I know it's not 100%...but still.
UPDATE: woke up this morning shivering even though I have my heater on. I checked my temp but I do not have a fever. And I do feel lethargic with a slight headache. I wonder if these are side effects?

(5,457 posts)I'm still screwed.
Too young (by 2 years) to qualify and designated an "essential" worker. So I need to continue being away from home going to work.
This sucks.

(4,533 posts)Five percent still get covid but basically zero die from it. It not only reduces the odds of infection 95% it also reduces the severity among those who do get it.
Science hit a home run with this crop of vaccines. Previously the shortest time to develop a vaccine was four years. This time it took only one year. In fact both the Moderna team and the Pfizer team took only two days from the day they got the dna of the virus to selection of their target vaccine. The rest of the time was setting up and conducting the trials to prove it worked. Both teams were already deeply experienced with corona type viruses, both teams were already working on using genetic engineering to create mRNA vaccines. Now they have returned to what they had previously worked on, using this strategy to create a vaccine for cancer. And early results are promising.

(9,322 posts)I felt pretty sick and most people I know that got the 2nd Moderna got sick. Totally worth it. Don't get me wrong. And you'll only feel bad for less than 24 hours.

(9,874 posts)No side effects at all with the exception of a very, very minor sore arm, which I could barely feel for a day and only if I laid on my shoulder in bed. It is completely gone this morning.
