Am I Justified For Saying The Cost Of Gas Going Up Around The Country & Costing Me More To Gas Up...

is because Texas went on their own grid and cut corners and didn't winterize?

I'm blaming the extra money that I'll have to spend now to keep my car filled with gas on the politicians and companies that didn't take proper precautions and cheaped out as they became greedy in their path to profits.

I don't think it is fair that the American People of all the other States should be penalized for this greed.

I wish there was something we could do to make those politicians and companies pay.

1. There is something we can do.

We can GOTV and help Democratic candidates in Texas. We helped in Georgia. We can do it again.

2. Certainly most justified...

And it will increase prices. Although the prices on gas go up if an energy CEO gets a hangnail.
We’re heading into “summer gas” time always goes up.

3. some of it is

but much of it is that the economy is picking up and demand for gas is up. the $1.99 it was in May was due to the horrid economy.

4. I still think part of it is

To cause grief for Joe and Kamala! Anything these people can do to hurt the economy! They were there to help QRUMP when he needed it.

5. Pennsylvania homeowner here

I've had the option for many years to be invoiced on a "budget" pricing plan from my natural gas utility supplier.

Basically they do a one year estimated use of natural gas - and obviously everyone's use is different depending on size of your house, what temp you normally set your thermostat, etc. Then they divide that number by 12, and bill the same amount each month.

It starts in July where I'm paying ahead. IOW I'm billed a higher amount in the summer months than I normally would pay for actual usage. Then in the cold months when my usage is higher, I'm charged the same low amount each month and it's much more affordable especially for those on a fixed income. When the 12 months are up (usually in June) then they adjust by billing whatever higher or lower amount so that it zeroes out before they start over in July.

I'm sure this type of plan is offered by many gas companies around the country to their homeowner customers. Everywhere except Texas that is.
