1362 days behind bars ought to be enough punishment for releasing the truth about a foreign attack on our election systems.

a sentence much lighter than it could have been. In fact, she's served most of it already and will be out next fall.

about classified information. "People have the right to know" doesn't really cut a lot of ice (even if there is an element of truth in some cases) But -- that's what 'classified' and 'secret' mean.

There's also the perspective of being willing to 'pay a price' -- that a lot of protesting and crusading has acknowledged. Is something important enough that you're willing to sacrifice for it? In that context -- you accept that you're going to take your lumps. And 5 years is not a draconian sentence given the circumstances.

I don't wish this person any particular ill -- but you could have accurately predicted this outcome.

among some on both right and left with very subjective notions of guilt and innocence, also shouldn't cut any ice at all with those charged with applying the law equally and without bias.

and whatever she's paid for appearing on Fox, OAN, Maher, etc. Book royalties.

Maybe she'll run for congress on a promise to leak committee information. Opportunities for rewards for that would be much better among either the Republican caucus or the illiberal left, though. Her chances of actual election are of course far higher on the right, and Trump's sympathy for her plight would be a real asset.

In any case, the more unjustly persecuted she appears to be by the Obama administration, the better.
