I understand we are being shortchanged in Covid vaccine by slicky boy GOPer Gov. Hogan. While the rest of the state is in Phase 1C, Montgomery County is stuck in 1A/B due to vaccine shortage.
I talked to someone at the health dept. and they said 'it will be awhile' to even get an appointment.
Never trust a republican.

(42,862 posts)... are being received for ALL of Maryland. (Maybe I mis-read that... but it certainly seems low.)

(38,359 posts)And it isn't. MoCo is still in the early phase of 1A/B while the rest of the state is seemingly way ahead. Something not right.

(5,767 posts)Had the impression in early January that the feds, under the former guy's administration, were shortchanging Maryland on vaccines.
I live in the Rockville area. Had 1st shot a few weeks ago through Johns Hopkins Community Physicians; due for second shot next week. I'm over 67, with asthma.

And the same goes with friends and neighbors.

(5,767 posts)but last week someone told me he was having no luck getting the vaccines for his 81-year-old mother, who is on dialysis.
Contact Congressman David Trone if you're in his district. He's doing a vaccine newsletter that's helping people find places to get vaccinated.

(2,738 posts)The health department was doing a decent job getting locals vaccinated but Hogan took vaccines away from all the counties to start his big state sites. He short-changed Baltimore city even worse than the counties. Have you checked out the Maryland Vaccine Hunters Facebook page? Lots of hints and help there.

(866 posts)People 65 plus are now being scheduled. They took teachers first (which is good). Once they are done with 65 plus, it goes to those with conditions. Virginia is in the midst of changing to a state wide list. But, many are trying CVS and Safeway, etc. I feel like things will happen fast

(12,305 posts)appointments to no avail. I've got COPD and other factors. I feel like by the time they get to us they will be giving half doses and only one to spread out the vaccines available.
