to repeal the Trump tax cuts while the COVID-19 pandemic is still a burden on the economy and Congress has a lot of other legislative priorities on its plate, such as addressing the need for more vaccines. Manchin on Tuesday eased back a bit by saying, “everything’s open for discussion.” In a webinar on Wednesday, Manchin also expressed concern with the nation’s debt level and touted the importance of infrastructure.

He told American Council for Capital Formation President and CEO Mark Bloomfield that the U.S. “is closing quickly on $28 trillion in national debt. ... We are going to have to pay for whatever we do.”

“Sooner or later, we’ve got to pay,” Manchin added, “Nobody likes taxes, I know that. Well, if you like your water and your sewer and your road and everything you receive and the food and all the amenities you have in life, maybe you better figure out how we’re going to be able to do it.”

Excellent point, Sen. Manchin. Who should we look to for payment? Poor people who are barely holding on by their fingernails? Or overrich people who suck up far more money than they can ever spend? Willie Sutton used to rob banks because that's where the money was. Where's the money these days?

How truly nice for them. Hoe they’ve enjoyed it! And now it’s time to give some of it back. For the greater good.

This is as simple as what we learned in kindergarten. You take turns! They who get to be first in line have had their turn. Now, they get to go to the end of the line so somebody else gets a turn to go first. And everybody else moves up so that they soon get their own turn, too.

So what is The Hill's basis for their sweeping charges against the Democrats being hesitant to repeal Trump's tax breaks? Oh, they found two... count'em, TWO Democratic lawmakers who are maybe or maybe not in opposition to raising taxes on the rich: Manchin, whose latest position on the issue, according to the Hill is “everything’s open for discussion”, and Tester, who, according to The Hill thinks “there are some loopholes in the code that could be cut out. I don’t know that you want to do it right now”. Hey, if this is not proof positive that the Democrats are all hesitant to repeal Trump's corporate tax breaks, I don't know what is, right? Never mind that The Hill is reporting that "some in the Democratic caucus, such as Senate Budget Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), want to raise taxes for corporations and wealthy individuals". Never mind that they are reporting that "Other Democrats are holding back from saying whether it would be a good idea to raise taxes while the economy is struggling, not wanting to get out in front of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.)."! Or that they quote Wyden as saying "I think we have two tax systems in America. I want one that gives everybody a chance to get ahead.”!

Oh, and there is one more anonymous Democratic House member who is quoted as saying “People would accept the corporate tax raised a few points but beyond that you’re going to have problems"... That makes three of them.

It's the Democrats! And they are hesitant! Pay no attention to the content of the article that is in direct contradiction to the headline!
