Let me see Joe now has his C-19 bill, voting rights protected, a trade and cooperation pact
between the US, India, Japan, and Australia (including other countries too), and now work
on the climate.

(833 posts)how much this executive order will stand up in the face of repug state legislatures an repug judges. This, from History.com is hopeful.
"An executive order is an official directive from the U.S. president to federal agencies that often have much the same power of a law." But "much the same power" and "often" leave wiggle room.

(And don't make comparisons about hair. I first heard of Biden when he got hair plugs many years ago. I was much younger and scoffed at him for being so vain. It now sound like the tan suit but it was a big story at the time.)

(9,880 posts)Our AG, Ken Paxton, comes to mind as a likely candidate. The case will probably find its way to the SC, but the crucial decision will be whether the SC lets it go into effect, as they did with several Trump EOs, before all the appeals are finished. The SC gave extraordinary deference to Trumps wishes. I somehow doubt they will do the same for Biden.
If its implementation is prevented, then the 2022 elections will be a nightmare for minority voters in most red states.

He even listens to people he doesn't agree with - can you imagine?
Joe Biden is the best choice we could have made for the times we're in.
Thank you Joe Biden!

(15,369 posts)HR1 is still critical for the survival of the Democratic Party and American Democracy.
No one should be lulled into complacency- HR1 must be top priority now- it must pass by this fall or Dems lose their majorities and the WH for a decade or longer.

And by mail, I hope!
We gotta restore the USPS and get more folks voting by mail -- that is the key to a GOP-less future...
