I said you either vote to get rid of the filibuster, or you vote for HR1. Jim Crow or the late John Lewis. It's a simple choice.

(10,816 posts)The woman who has been mocked here for her clothing and body language? The one who voted FOR the stimulus? The one who has said she supported raising the minimum wage outside the stimulus bill? The Democratic senator that you are bashing?

(10,816 posts)Maybe post some mocking pictures while completely ignoring that she wasn't the only Democrat to vote against Bernie's irrelevant amendment.
Sounds like a good strategy to build some clout, but it probably won't get the results you want.

(26,366 posts)Now people know where everyone stands on the issue.
So let's not ignore anyone. Here is who voted against it:
Every Republican present in the Senate and:
Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.)
Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.)
Angus King (I-Maine.)
Tom Carper (D-Del.)
Chris Coons (D-Del.)
Jon Tester (D-Mont.)
Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.)
Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.)

(10,816 posts)But since everyone wants to excuse the Republicans for their obstinance and blame Democrats here....

(30,613 posts)However, in this case, they are tied together; pukes are planning to block HR1 by using the Filibuster, which Sinema implies she will be happy to let them do.

(411 posts)Do you honestly expect Republicans to be anything less than mendacious?
President Obama bent over backwards for years to try to find common ground with Republicans. He appealed to the better angels of their nature, extended his hand, gave them every opportunity to come to the table and make a bipartisan compromise. What did he get in return from them?
Some of us are harder on Democrats than on Republicans because it's pretty obvious that Republicans are way too far gone and that therefore, it's a waste of time to try to persuade them. I expect Democrats to be better than Republicans, because my baseline assumption is that Democrats are better than Republicans.
