The DCCC recruits corporate Democrats and protects establishment incumbents while taking money from Wall Street and corporate PACs. All that money goes towards stopping progressive legislation like Medicare for All and a Green New Deal.
Justice Democrats doesnt take a cent of money from corporate PACs because were fighting for the people, NOT corporate profits. Were recruiting and running working-class progressive primary challengers to challenge the status quo.
This month, were trying to raise just 1.8% of what the DCCC raised last month. Christian, now is the perfect time to make a contribution fueling our work to find the next progressive primary candidates to challenge the establishment. Can you donate today?
We need a Democratic Party that fights for its voters, not corporate donors. JD does the hard work of recruiting, training, fundraising, and organizing with bold, progressive candidates.
On one side of this intra-party ideas battle, you have the DCCC, which raises huge sums of money to support establishment candidates that keep the Democratic Party status quo alive.
Then theres our side. Were building a solid base of progressives in Congress fighting for Medicare for All, racial justice, COVID-19 relief and were doing it with an incredibly low budget. But the reality is we could be doing more if we had more resources to go against the DCCC.
Perhaps their fundraising would be more successful if they could show that they could, say, win against Republicans?

(7,509 posts)Progressive Democrats were infuriated last month when Representative Cheri Bustos of Illinois, the chairwoman of the campaign arm, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, moved to protect centrist incumbents by formally breaking committee business ties with political consultants and pollsters who go to work for primary challengers.

That's not a "blacklist", that's being sensible. Why would the DCCC help support/finance organizations that are supporting candidates running against incumbent Democrats?
Does the NY Yankees help pay the salaries of Boston Red Sox players so they can beat them?

(3,017 posts)They want your money to go and fight against the Democratic Party.
These populists are the only ones that can fix this. Just like trump. Extremism leads to the same spot.

(58,785 posts)"progressive" but whose passion is fighting the progressive Democratic Party, even to the point of helping the anti-progressive Republican Party defeat Democrats. All goals subjugated to that last.
And notice WHO their enemy is in this deceitful email. Like trumpists they must believe the lies that support their extremist delusions of extreme righteousness and lone wisdom.
Nothing new here, of course. Every generation has its troublesome extremists.

(42,630 posts)general elections versus Rethugs. Kara Eastman in NE-2 was the one loss versus a Rethug (Bacon, the incumbent Rethug won by 4 and half points)
They did have another general election loss (to another Dem, in CA-53, as it was Dem v Dem due to the jungle primary.)
I do hope Nina Turner loses her 2022 Primary, I do not like her at all.

(3,691 posts)They have never flipped a single seat from red to blue and won't. Their demand for purism costs us in districts where a more moderate Dem could win.

(42,630 posts)primary. Eastman lost the general, but she certainly did not block some 'sure winner'.
They blocked no moderates from winning.
They didn't run against any actual moderates, and Marie Newman took out the second worst Dem in the House, the anti LGBTQ, forced birther centre right conservadem Dan Lipinski (who was backed by RW money and viscously and falsely smeared Newman as a Holocaust denier and anti-Catholic in 2018), in the primary, then Newman won the general in a canter.

(15,325 posts)Who writes these weekly funding emails? The trustfund rich kids who began this group as an online start-up business?
Cenk's trustfund buddies?
Gaaaad they must all be millionares & billionares by now.
Those trashy emails appear about every 2 days asking for money & trashing the Democratic Party, its leaders & every policy it puts out.
Someone's making bank on trashing the Dems!
Its pretty gross.
That's some deep hate.

(35,812 posts)like how they chose who to help in primaries and who not to help. I haven't kept up with them since, but I still haven't trusted them since they didn't help the candidates I wanted.

(143,998 posts)I do not support this group but I am amused by their pleas for money. The Just Us Democrats are trying to destroy the Democratic Party to remake the party in their own image which would guarantee that the GOP will win control of the House and the Senate next cycle

Oh right, they're going to take over the Democratic Party and Trump's base will join the revolution once their economic interests are explained to them.

(67,782 posts)...if I read their FEC reports correctly:
Their second largest expense happens to be Justice Democrats, $875,000, 20% of their total expenses.
On the other hand, their largest contributor is surprisingly Justice Democrats, $875,000, 15% of their total receipts
So they gave themselves $875,000 and received from themselves $875,000.
Only 25% of their receipts are itemized, the other 75% is unitemized (i.e., unknown). They also have a line of "other receipts" worth $1,578,376, which is also 25% of their total receipts.
In that $1,578,376 are these items, among other items:
Another $875,000 from Justice Democrats (duplicate?), $450,000 from Charles Dunlop, $200,000 from two Working Families Party entities, $125,000 from Amro Nahas, and $30,000 from their founder, Saikat Chakrabarti.
Interestingly, the link to their "Other receipts" has a list worth $2,444,337 but they show only the $1,578,376 on their summary page.
It's all documented here:
