Fact check needed. I thought George Floyd said I can't breathe 22 times

I heard that somewhere, I think on a news radio report. That it was 22 times over those 8 1/2 minutes when Chauvin was kneeling on his neck and pressing his throat into the pavement.

Did I get that number right? Sometimes I misremember, so I like to fact check myself.

Yes, and I believe the defense is also going to claim that fentanyl caused his breathing problems. Jim__ Mar 2021 #5

If you can talk, you can breathe......

Not so much. Getting occasional breaths is not the same as breathing. And it certainly isn't good for you even in calm conditions. Panic exacerbates the problems. And things can go wrong fast.

But that is ALWAYS their bark out.

Not a doctor, but I have occasionally not been able to breath well, and I could talk.

... repeatedly saying the same thing when he was initially in the back of the cop car, while seeming to lay on the cushioned back seat with nobody on top of him.

The defense might try to use those recordings, saying, "See? This fine police officer had no reason to suspect that his actions were affecting Mr. Floyd as he was being subdued on the street."

And I'm sure they'll use his saying he couldn't breathe before Chauvin was on his neck as evidence that it was fentanyl.
