Rachel went on and on about how it had been multiplied, but we never could figure out exactly how. And there's a CNN story in Google News about a new "tool." But I couldn't figure out what was new.
Does anyone understand this?

(26,366 posts)1. They found a way to get an extra use of reconcillation...
Top policy aides to Schumer recently argued to the Senate parliamentarian that revising this year's budget resolution could "trigger an additional set of reconciliation instructions," which would allow for further 50-50 votes that are decided by Vice President Harris.
It's not clear how many additional reconciliation opportunities this theory would open up. But the conventional wisdom is that Democrats have just one more shot at reconciliation this year, and this route would give them at least one more.

but it would still have the issue of not applying to anything except stuff that affects the budget.

So in addition to using reconciliation to pass budget resolutions, they can also use it to add amendments, such as infrastructure, to an already pass budget resolution, and it doesnt count against their once a year limit.
