Joe has those crinkles around his eyes which always tells me that a person has smiled and laughed a lot. He makes me smile just looking at him. Such sincerity in his face.

6. Two great leaders, but . . .

I prefer the work of whoever did the 2013 portrait. In both of the 2021 pictures, the light is straight on, with none of the interesting shadows and contrasts of the earlier shot.

I'm no professional photographer, so I'm not explaining this very well. But in the 2021 portrait, the President is on the verge of looking washed out. Even those traveling photographers that did all of my grade school pictures did a better lighting job.
