Trump: You're damn right I tried to overthrow the government & I'll do it again (this isn't a quote)

Last edited Mon Apr 12, 2021, 12:35 PM - Edit history (5)

Also McConnell is a dumb son of a bitch.

Press: Did you hear what he said about McConnell?

?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

There is this attempt by GOP pols and anti-anti-Trumpers in the media to act as if the Trump/Cruz/Hawley.McCarthy coup was not a genuine attempt to overturn the election but every-time Trump speaks he reconfirms that he was in fact hoping for a genuine coup.

?s=20

NOTE: This is not a QUOTE from Trump.
It is more of a synopsis of his intent
& the point I was trying to make was about the press changing the subject to McConnell

The odds are they'll be far more successful on a repeated attempt. Learn from your mistakes and all that.

It's why investigating, exposing and holding individuals accountable is so important.

As I've written repeatedly: We (the country) missed a bullet on January 6th. If these bad actors are given a second opportunity, they'll come in with the kill shot.

If Parkhomenko's tweet is accurate, Donald Trump openly admitted his participation in a treasonous act against the United States of America.

The man belongs in jail.

And some foreign actors might be more than pleased to help them. There are so many naive people in the US ... and they voted again for this guy. A total WTF!!! And so many showed up this past weekend to shower him with money, etc. Incredible.

because his money and his mob lawyers will keep delaying everything until he shuffles off to afterlife or oblivion, no one knows which.

He'll most likely leave a mess that will take decades to untangle.

I'm not as worried about Dumdum as I am about some of the fascists the billionaires have been grooming for years at their various alphabet soup racketeering organizations.

an election mess for the Midterms of 2022. That should be our focus. Everyone needs to work like he** to keep the House and Senate. If not we will be end the Biden/Harris agenda. We must not think we don't have to work hard for the Midterms.

The 2022 and 2024 elections are of the utmost importance for the health of the country. The only way this cancer will be eradicated is by denying Republicans power. It's the only thing they understand: power and money. Deny them power at all levels and they will either change by purging themselves of the white nationalist/authoritarian element or the party itself will become irrelevant and die, a most deserved death.

Midterms should be the immediate focus, then right on to 2024.

Right, too--take nothing for granted.

This quote is a pubic confession to a serious crime IF in fact Trump actually said this.

Do you know if your source provided that evidence? Is there an audio/video recording of this? I know I heard the bit regarding his remarks on McConnell, I believe I did hear an audio recording of it somewhere. But I hadn't heard the quote excerpted below.

You’re damn right I tried to overthrow the government and I’ll do it again

"What" is going to happen again?

Nobody except Donald Trump actually believed that he could "stop" the electoral vote count by Congress. It is 100% understood that the VP can't change the vote count. It doesn't even look Constitutionally plausible for the House and Senate to overturn the election vote as certified by the States unless there were multiple sets of electors sent.

What we witnessed - a candidate trying to convince anyone who will listen, that the rules of counting the votes are not the rules of counting the votes - will never .... repeat NEVER happen again. Without Trump, none of those other idiots would have gone down that road.
