Chris Christie Reportedly Buries Trump in Closed-Door Speech to GOP Congressmen: I Warned Him to ‘Knock Off Some of This Crazy Stuff’

By Joe DePaolo

Apr 15th, 2021, 8:50 am

Chris Christie is pinning the blame for the Republican party’s defeat in the 2020 election squarely on former President Donald Trump.

According to RealClearPolitics, the former New Jersey governor performed something of a 2020 election autopsy on Wednesday, while charting the course forward for the Republican party in a closed-door address to the Republican Study Committee — a group comprised entirely of current GOP House members. And in his remarks, Christie attributed the party’s two losses in the Georgia Senate runoff elections to Trump’s focus on what he falsely deemed to be a “rigged” presidential vote in the state.

“[F]rankly, if my friend had gone down there and talked about Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, and not about Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, we would be in the majority in the Senate right now,” Christie said — in a clear reference to Trump without mentioning him by name.

The former New Jersey governor added, “We lost because we were looking in the rearview mirror at what happened on general election day, not what was going to happen on runoff election day. We were telling them it was rigged, and so they said, ‘Hell, why should I go to a rigged election? My vote’s not gonna matter anyway.’”

Christie then went a step further — putting Trump on the hook not only for the GOP’s loss of control in the senate, but also for its defeat in the presidential race.

Christie is a rotten person with a nasty temperament, but yes, he is smart. Of course, if he was a bit smarter, he'd get out of politics and go do something constructive. For some people, it seems that politics is addictive and they just can't quit it. Probably the lust for power I suppose and that's especially true with Christie.

... out of you-know-what.

The fact is that he wanted on board and Chump didn't invite him. As long as the GQP remains in the Chump-land crazy house, there's no room for moderates like Christie. You'd think he would have figured it out by now.

...that for the next several cycles, many Republican candidates will need to decide if they want to lose because they stand with Trump or lose because they don't. Many will win simply because they are (R)s in areas where Jesus Christ couldn't win if he ran as a (D), but on the national level, trumpism must be burned to the ground, and the only way to do that is to convince opportunistic (R)s that it's no longer a ticket to power.

The GOP recognizes they told their voters it was rigged. So this Jim Crow nonsense is an effort by them to be able to tell their voters it's no longer rigged. I doubt it works either way.

Republicans refuse to accept that Trump cost them both houses of Congress and the White House. And that they get creamed when he's not on that ballot. 2022 will buck the trend and the party in power will see gains in both houses. And they'll have trump to thank for it.

According to insiders, when Chris Christie was part of the transition team he was with Trump when Donald was told that millions of dollars had been raised to pay for the transition. Trump insisted that this was his money and he wanted it. When he was told that it would be illegal for him to take that money, Trump supposedly said, "I don't care if it's legal, I want my fucking money!" Christie has never denied that this happened (it was written about) and in fact avoided mentioning the incident in any way in the book he wrote.

We can talk about Stacy & the GOTV efforts all we want, but the fact is in the runoff 6 figures of solid red area voters did NOT go to the polls. Likely because of Trumps constant whining about the "rigging". I know a few who did not vote. Saw them on FB asking "Why bother? Its rigged anyway".
Then when they LOST, they were able to say "SEE?!?!?! I TOLD you it was rigged". Which they did.
No, you idiots, you lost because your leader took your money & led you down the drain.

The GQP NEVER mention what they will do for the people with the power they crave like a meth head with a $3,000 dollar a day habit. First off Christie, the two shit bags from Georgia you would have welcomed in the senate for your power, are both criminals that care less about people, mostly just cash. McTurtles Dailey blathering about taking back house and senate, never say why they should be paid by us to help us. Just control of their wealth. We damn sure know what they are against, MOST of which is supported by majority of us, just what the F**K do you stand FOR besides racist power. Exactly why they want to chose the voters, and throw away ANY ballots that oppose their criminality for wealth.
What has Cruze, Hawley, Jordon, Johnson, just to name a few top floaters in the toilet that won’t flush, done while in power for any of us. Take your fat ass back to the beach, not like there was infrastructure issues when you closed highways for revenge.

Christie said this in the article: “We didn’t lose the White House because the American people disagree with our ideas and support what [Democrats] are trying to do right now,” Christie said, per the RealClearPolitics report. “We know why we lost. We know why we lost, and so does President Trump.”

A majority of the American people DO disagree with Republican ideas and support what Democrats are trying to do. Just look at the polls on the Biden stimulus bill and the infrastructure bill. And last time I noticed a poll, Biden’s approval rating was around 61-62%. Trump’s never got above 50%.

Republicans still think they can run on racism and culture wars and that voter suppression will win the day for them. And cheating. That has worked, too. I wish we could get voting machines without paper backup outlawed.

briefing books in the trash. Months of work and Trump remarks, appointments are easy, we can do it in an afternoon. Typical malignant narcissist who says that everything is “easy”. Christies’s plain speaking talk as. j governor was refreshing for about a minute. By the time he left office he wasn’t well liked. Trump takes a daily dump in Christie’s face to which Christie says “Thank you”.
