Doesn't matter which "ism" the replacement regime embraces, they tend to be authoritarian.

It's as though the whole country is stuck in an endless series of relationships with abusive boyfriends. Who hurt you, Russia? Even when you played for the other team, i.e., Catherine the Great, you only got a little "enlightenment".

You need someone who treats you right. Look to Finland. They're right next door. Maybe Sanna Marin can fix you up with someone nice.

If there are consequences to be had, let’s have them before he dies.

There have been several reports from Navalny's family, lawyer and doctor that indicate the man is dying as we speak--renal failure and heart faltering. Navalny was already weakened by last year's poisoning. He'd been complaining of back and leg problems shortly after his imprisonment and the failure of authorities to sanction medical intervention. Then he went on a hunger strike, after which authorities threatened to force feed him.

None of this points to a positive outcome.
