GOP Sen. Ron Jonhson Criticizes ‘Big Push’ To Get Everyone Vaccinated
The comment comes as others in Johnson’s caucus, most notably Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, are encouraging Republicans to take the vaccine.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) on Thursday questioned the “big push” to ensure everyone is vaccinated against coronavirus, putting him at odds with many of his Senate Republican colleagues who have attempted to close the partisan gap in vaccination rates.

Key Facts

In an interview with conservative Wisconsin radio host Vicki McKenna, herself a vocal coronavirus vaccine skeptic, Johnson launched into a condemnation of “vaccine passports,” a credential that would allow businesses to verify vaccination status.

But Johnson also went a step further, declaring he sees “no reason to be pushing vaccines on people,” arguing their distribution should be “limited” to those most vulnerable to coronavirus, and asking, “if you have a vaccine, quite honestly, what do you care if your neighbor has one or not?”

Johnson said he is “getting highly suspicious” of the “big push to make sure everybody gets the vaccine,” stating it’s “not a fully approved vaccine” but also arguing that the fact it is 95% effective means only a limited number of people need to be vaccinated.

Pretty sure he's old enough to have gotten polio vaccine.

I'm tired of people who have been vaccinated for everything else and never had any of those horrific diseases whine about having to get a jab in the arm now.

Whiny babies afraid of needles. That's it. The rest is smoke and mirrors. They are afraid of needles. Crybabies.

WHen they can't fake an app to get on their cruise, they'll have to vaccinate. or stay home.

This is why vaccines are for babies, so their mamas take care of it.

It isn't stopping me from getting vaccinated, just like it didn't stop Rachel, who's been very open about her own issues.

He's almost certainly been vaccinated himself. He's actively discouraging OTHER people from getting vaccinated, even to the point of limiting access for people who WANT it.

This isn't about fear of needles. It's about wanting to keep the pandemic going in this country indefinitely because someone is getting something out of it politically or financially.

Along with 7 other traitors.

Once you start seeing his actions as deliberately designed to hurt us, not help us, he doesn't seem crazy.

He's not working for us that's for sure

population. Just like the usual republican creed on their medical plan...get sick and die!

Typical republicans...but wait until populations of theirs in rural areas of the Country are suddenly taken down w/ this disease. Rural America is big, geographic-wise, tiny populations which force more residents to deal w/ each other on a per person basis vs. the cities, thus leading to bigger outbreaks, %-wise of the population (IMHO). No science here, but just logic in how these rural communities act.
