Should Dems run ads against their GOP opponents referring to them as Pro-Insurrectionist?

Regarding 2022's midterm election.

Once the GOP nominates their candidate in almost any race, if they refuse to condemn the Jan 6th attack on our democracy and our country then run ads referring to any who refuse to condemn or any that are already on record as either supporting it or refusing to condemn.

In other words, most of the GOP who voted to acquit Trump during his impeachment trial.

In my humble opinion, Democratic Party candidates could politically cripple their GOP opponents by relentlessly running ads referring to their GOP opponent as Pro-Insurrection. That the GOP tried to protect the orange seditionist.

The GOP tried to sweep an attack on our country and our democracy under the rug.

I believe these ads could be very effective.

We need to win every purple district to grow our majorities. Of course, I'd like to see us win every district but we may even pick up a few red districts with an effective campaign strategy.

This would be the Democratic Party taking their gloves off and swinging hard.

Voters like candidates that fight hard during campaign season.

I also think this will ward off our party underperforming in 2022.

2. Yes, the Dems should, and

they should use the same ad agencies the Rs use for their ads - get the framing right and let the fence-sitters see how bad the insurrectionists are.

3. Too many syllables: try pro coup instead

Seriously, five syllables is too many for any kind of advertising. I assume you’re not targeting Full on Trumpists—who hate big words, compound sentences and ideas that require any real thought. Insurrectionist is also a kind of squishy word. Good guys are sometimes involved in insurrections. Coups are always conducted by bad guys. It’s a clearly negative word and more powerful for it

Agree, though, Dems should pound on Republicans who supported the coup attempt and the big lie.

4. Frankly, 90% of the US population probably have NO IDEA

What an insurrectionist is.

Big words confuse Americans.

When 75% of all attempts to use the word "lose" as in the opposite of WIN, are spelled... "loose"

Trust me, Americans are a stupid lot.

13. ****YES !!!**** Democrats Need To Define Their Opponents FIRST !!! Take Defund The Police ...

... for example and how republicans define democrats with a slogan few to no one ran on.

There are people to this day swearing up and down that slogan lost us down ballot races but not admitting that if it did then democrats down ballot allowed themselves to be defined by their opponents.

We need to change tactics by striking hard, first and without mercy (where have I heard that before) and not letting up on 1/6 terrorist

17. It's time for Democrats to develop a taste for blood. But keep it simple.

Don't even bother with the "Domestic" -- just call it "Terrorism". "X Supports Terrorism" is short 'n' sweet and doesn't tax the brainpower of the electorate too much. Make them explain how they don't support terrorism.

The whining from their side will be glorious. That's how you'll know it's working.

ETA: Picture this: "Who represents you in Washington?" followed by a picture of QBacca in all his horny glory, fading to a picture of Gym Jordan (or your favorite local qpublican). Use that fool's worthless organic ass for something worthwhile, for a change.

20. Side by side film comparisons between the fascist insurrectionists at the

Capitol and Kristallnacht.

No apologies. After all, isn't the core reason for their attack on the Capitol a profound hatred of anyone who doesn't look like them, or believe in their deity? They worship the Great Liar because he is a white supremacist phony christian fascist pig, like they are. They attacked our nation's Capitol to serve him.

Sorry if I'm being too polite.

22. Not with that phrase, but yes.

The phrase itself is too long and cumbersome. It's a term for wonks, not storytellers, and ads are there to tell as story.

The terrorists were there to attack congress and overthrow the election. Just because they didn't strap bombs to themselves doesn't mean they weren't terrorists. They were there to strike fear into anyone who opposed them and their Leader.

Any Republican who downplays or denies what was done supports doing it again (and doing it "right" this time) and turning this country into a banana republic.

A lot of use should be made of interweaving the Republican the ad is against with clips of attacks on the capitol police, and with mugshots of people identified, arrested, and charged for their actions that day, none of whom are "antifa." Make that point too.
