7. That must be fabulous
I was actually in a plaza today and checked out a kitchen appliance place but only because staff were outside inviting us in to check out their sale. The thing is I really don't need a damn thing in this kitchen.

21. It isn't but then I remember how much stuff we never use
like the citrus juicer. I just had to have it until I realized that the old one is so much easier to wash

19. We bought a carbon steel wok on our honeymoon.
That was 41 1/2 years ago. Still have it. It’s seasoned jet black and slick as ice.

6. Next to fishing cooking is my most serious hobby.
Name a classic French dish and I’ve cooked it and many of them often.
A good set of stainless steel with copper core is worth the hefty investment. I cook on All-Clad. There are other good ones but all are expensive. Professional chefs don’t necessarily need them because they are expert at temperature control. You can buy good cookware for a reasonable price at a good restaurant supply store. I just spent 5 years splurging on what I wanted. Your meal sounds good. Kind of a poor day jambalaya. I’ve made it often. Ironically despite my fancy cookware, being from Louisiana I cook with cast iron as much as anything. Several well seasoned iron skillets and a Dutch oven are critical for being able to cook my Louisiana classics. Enjoy your meal. |

8. I didn't know
Revere ware has gone pouf.
I am very lucky to have the set I have than. No way in hell I could afford them. My mom gave them to me when I got married. I also have two cast iron pans my grandma inherited from her mother that my mom had that I now use. The cure on them makes them like nonstick pans without the PFOAs. |

12. A good pan/pot makes a huge difference.
I have kept my copper bottom pans for decades. And have added a cast iron pan an a few le cruset 2 braisers and one Dutch. Those are very expensive. But I love the way they cook.

Not as quickly as Barkeeper's Friend, though. That stuff is pretty amazing.

17. I shop thrift stores for kitchen ware.
I once had an entire set of Revereware pots and pans that I had collected over time. I still have two of the frying pans and a big stockpot.
My latest find was a Kitchen Aid mini food processor that looked unused for $15. It's great for small projects when I don't want to have to clean the big food processor. I also recently found a restaurant style SS steam table pan for $5. One thing I've never found in thrift stores is quality cutlery. |

23. I have my mom's Revereware pots and skillets too
They are probably 50 years old and still in service. They will polish up nicely too.
