If so, how are all these fireworks being allowed?

Kudos to the US embassy in Montevideo Uruguay for the fireworks show seen across the waters from my balcony.

No idea about other embassies in other countries; this is the 2nd Independence Day fireworks display that I have seen here.
Today I hear the brass band in view two blocks away celebrating Venezuelan Independence at the Simon Bolívar statue.

The daytime fireworks I heard yesterday afternoon were celebrating a fútbol win at the stadium; it is a common sound.
The city went mad with noise in 2018 when Uruguay had a win early in the Copa Mundial series.

We often see aerial fireworks across the water from a different stadium or simply because someone at the beach has rockets.
In Uruguay the big national-cultural custom is fuegos artificiales on Christmas Eve. The week before, fireworks sellers set up on the sidewalk of the city's main street (as well as in further neighborhoods).

my way back machine. I lived on the 13th floor of a high rise on Governor's Island, and was there for one July 4th (1988?) Grucci produced. I think they did Jones Beach, too.

Love the Capitol 4th. Hopefully the whole show will be back on Capitol grounds next year. Kermit the Frog, Vanessa Williams, Jimmy Buffet, 1812 Overture with the NSO, what a great show.

They kept cutting away from the fireworks, or they were obscuring them with a cut-in of the band that was playing. It was frustrating to watch, and disappointing.

I miss the Boston Pops July 4th shows. They always had the best fireworks, and they let the audience see them all. They also played the full "1812 Overture," rather than just parts of it, as PBS did. It was sad to see CBS stop carrying it.
