West Virginia is Trading Trump for Tech Workers
I read this article with an very sympathetic heart. West Virginians want nothing more than what all of us want, but they fell for the empty rhetoric of popularisn and culture wars. And even their two current Senate incmbants are disinterested in helping them.
Not delivering for your constituents is another form of voter suppression. Why participate in democracy if you see no material, intangible evidence of improvement in your life?

(30,613 posts)WV is an excellent spot for massive wind/solar combined energy farms. All those mountain tops flattened by the coal industry are ideal windswept sites. And WV is located adjacent to the massive East coast energy market, which is growing, thanks to massive construction of data centers in Norther Virginia.
There would be a ton of jobs created to construct and maintain the energy farms.

(2,403 posts)What I do know is that Hillary had a message a d a plan to get them good paying jobs converting from coal mining to leading in green energy and they told her to fuck off.
Now their fucking coal mining museum is powered by solar energy.
Fixing stupid is a very difficult task.

(35,148 posts)here have more in common with WV than Ohio. I have mineral rights for my Great Grandfathers farm in WV most of us around here have our roots in WV. I spent every weekend on my Grandmothers farm in WV when I was a kid. Wheeling WV and Morgantown have a lot to offer plus both are within an hours drive to Pittsburgh another great city. But if you are a Democrat you are the enemy, you have to deal with Trump bullshit every day. I don't know if it will ever change.
