Even a local Florida State Rep republican who can usually be found safely up desantis' butt is advocating for them. It looks like he got told to go get it today?

(101,730 posts)Plus, I think it is possible that Fox in-house counsel have probably been hearing (possibly from WH counsel) how damned exposed they are to class-action lawsuits.
Behind the scenes I suspect a lot is being discussed and RWers are realizing they are holding the bag.

Great piles of corpses command attention, and cannot be blinked away.
'Vote for me! I've killed a million, and want to do more!' is a pretty poor campaign platform, even, I suspect, in Mississippi....

(31,261 posts)Their voters are the people that are refusing to get vaccinated, and the Delta variant is likely to kill some of them. Democrats are heavily vaccinated and my guess is the 6 percent of Democrats who dont plan to get vaccinated either have valid medical reasons or they are basically republican types who just havent bothered to re-register as republicans.
I suspect that among African Americans, the people who are not getting vaccinated either have valid medical reasons, or they are people that have simply tuned out and likely have never voted.
Make no mistake, republicans and Fox News likely have access to numbers showing that they are attriting active voters to COVID19 much, much faster than Democrats are, that makes a huge difference in close races.

(11,949 posts)She is a republican voter. Religious but not what you would consider trumps base. Not bat shit crazy. Just a religious 80 something year old woman who allowed the abortion thing to get her voting Republican. But she is also troubled by the way black folks are treated.
But the virus killed her friends. And her group has stopped playing cards with those who are not going to get vaccinated.
I am with her this week for the first time in 16 months. She told me tonight she is glad Biden won and wishes she had voted for him.
Not all trump voters are batshit crazy Q people.
Republicans polling is showing that Americans are blaming the resurgence in Covid on them. My mother sure is. Im hopeful she will return to the Democratic Party.
Republicans cant afford to lose even 5% of their rapidly shrinking percentage of the electorate. Even with voter suppression.
They now realize that if we have a huge resurgence in Covid, which we are now seeing, the blame will be on them.
And causing the death of voters is not a good way to get re-elected. Especially when most of the deaths are your voters.

(11,949 posts)I have friends who generally vote Republican. My mother does. None are the batshit crazy type Q people. I would not associate with that type.
They are super pissed off at this resurgence and most now admit the blame is on the republicans.
My mother grew up as an FDR Democrat. But is religious and over 80. The Abortion thing got her voting Republican. She was already troubled about the treatment of black folks since she is southern and supported the Civil Rights movement in the 60s when she was younger
She is super pissed off that Covid is not gone and blames republicans. Told me tonight she is glad Biden is president and wishes she had voted for him
And dont attack my mother. Im with her for the first time in 16 months. Shes a good woman but does not follow the news that much. Just listens to her church. Which she has not attended in 16 months due to Covid. Told me she is not going back since in her mind by meeting in person they killed. people. She just an older lady who I hope to goodness is returning to her Democratic roots.
On a personal note Im not someone who ever crys. But when I hugged my mother after getting off the plane I was crying like a child. Very embarrassing. But meant a lot to her. And Im a 55 year old liberal redneck!
