I have to admit, the one thing that Republicans did for Democrats in regards to COVID-19

.

Delayed getting vaccinated so Democrats and Blue States could get their vaccine supplies first!

While there was a lot of suffering on all sides, and in every state, their pigheadedness and fealty to Trump actually helped us out in the early days of vaccine availability. Unfortunately, it is probably too late to get vaccinated for the Delta variant, in many states because of the prevalence of the Delta virus and the added days the vaccine has to be in ones body to become effective against it.

There is going to be a tense window with a lot of these late vaccinations, as people might think they are protected from Delta, when they really aren't fully prepared.

Yes, and the Dems in those states probably had easier access to vaccines since less competition. TheBlackAdder Jul 2021 #4

Our wonderful Missouri Governor sent many more vaccines to to Rural areas so many in St. Louis had to drive hours to get shots in the rural areas back in March.

I completed both shots by mid-March, and it was way ahead of schedule. The original estimate was that I wouldn't be vaccinated until this summer. Like about now - end of July or early August. All the Repukes stepped out of line and I got in much earlier.

The cities are Democratic and pretty well vacced. Rural areas are like Missouri. Some counties are below 30%. Others are above 60%.

And then the difference between the cities and the outlying areas within counties. My county is at around 55%. But that’s not the whole story. The south part of the county is a bedroom community of Orlando. Educated and diverse. We are over 60%. The north part of the county is bright red and less than 30%. Learned this from my neighbor who works at our hospital.

The largest irony is that our highest rate is in Sumpter County. One of the reddest. It’s over 70%. But it is home of the Villages. A haven for rich, older Midwesterners. They may be trumpers. But they are closer to death and are in no hurry to get there!
