If enough people die and try to collect all at the same time, insurance companies are in trouble. They can't keep paying out indefinitely. I'm not an accountant but we do have a lot of smart people on DU who can explain better than I can. Insurance is a pyramid scheme basically, it only works if we don't all try to collect at the same time.

The problem with an answer like "It's the DOW" is that a direct connection between vaccines and the DOW is not traceable. But a direct link between the deaths or long-term health issues of people and the insurance companies is easy to trace, and the insurance companies have probably been bleeding red for some time now.

They've ignored the problem for a long time, because they crunched the numbers and figured it was the best way to get votes. Maybe the recent revelations about death rates of the vaccinated/unvaccinated are starting to sink in among the peasants. It certainly couldn't be a result of all the GOP suddenly finding Jesus at once.

It's not like the Republicans enjoy an edge in voter registration across the country. And the places where they do dominate are suffering the loss of quite a number of likely voters: "Hey Stan, look at these county registrar numbers. Looks like we have a lot of Republicans dying off in the last six months."

Covid-19 is killing people that voted for them, that are part of the base, that’s a given.

But I think that some of the families of the people that die in the Red States, are stone cold crazy.

And, most of them have guns, and now and then, they shoot em.

I suspect that there are going to be situations where a member of someone’s family is going to die due to the misinformation and lying by these RW talk show people and/or government officials.
And, then one of the crazies is going to put 1+1 together and come up with 2. And then, they are going to want pay back, consequences be damned.

had something to do with it. Like maybe, something to do with 'screaming fire in a crowded theater' is NOT protected speech under the first amendment. Their screaming lies 24-7 are a detriment to human life in this country, not to mention, all over the planet.

Republicans (like Mitch McConnell, et al) are the reason we can't have nice things. They're the reason we cannot have a decent society. They're the reason gun toting killers run rampant every single day throughout our communities. They promote anger and fear to their gullible minions to antagonize them to become ruthless monsters in our communities every single day. Why? So they can collect millions of dollars, live the high life with their benefactors and the rest of us fight for crumbs.

Since this is my one and only life on this planet I say, FUCK THAT! And Them!

Jul 2021

Republican Governors and right wing media talking heads are now beginning to realize that their voters, financial supporters and audience are self-exterminating by refusing the vaccine, and putting them in jeopardy. It's no longer about rousing the base, owning the libs and creating a battle about personal liberties, masks or vaccine safety. It's about avoiding losing voters, power, financial support and attention. On the bottom line, they really don't care about anything else.
