Hey! It just occurred to me: Republicans have been trying to kill public education for years.

Maybe this is a secondary reason for Republican governors banning mask mandates in schools (the primary reason being, of course, that they hope to curry favor with Trump's idiot voting base and thus get reelected).

I actually don't think they've thought it through that much (since they never think anything through), but creating public schools that are unhealthy for kids and teachers would fit into their anti-public-education scheme. Too bad if thousands of schoolchildren are killed in the process.

I predict Republican legislation is on the horizon for private school vouchers for parents who pull their kids from public schools due to Covid.

voters who'll swallow any crap/nonsense that they'll tell/feed their voters.

One can easily verify this, as every one of the republicans' positions on issues can be easily refuted by simple logic.

A dumb voter is a republican voter.

No wonder the share of voters leaning republican (out of all voters) is shrinking by the day (besides the sad fact that COVID is killing a lot of them too), being too dumb to be a republican really takes a lot of effort and work, and it's exhausting being full of hate and such.

When I heard about DeSadist's vouchers I wondered if it was his plan to move a lot of students from public to (for-profit?) private schools where they likely have more "freedom" to ignore the truth and push their BS.

They are making us vulnerable to attack from autocratic countries like Russia and China, who are getting stronger and stronger, while the US is being destroyed by divisiveness and by Rs' complete disregard for the welfare of anyone but themselves and their rich donors.

China is very strong economically. Russia is a weak country economically and will be significantly poorer once fossil fuels take a back seat.

Here in Montana and the rest of the West and Canada, we've got these tiny little bark beetles that are killing our pine trees. All those dead pine trees combined with the drought conditions have resulted in massive wildfires.

So the Russians are like those tiny bark beetles in that, although tiny, they have been extremely successful at infesting Republican voters' brains and pumping them full of disinformation via social media and FoxNews. Add the Republican politicians' efforts to pit the right against the left, and BLAMMO! We have a raging forest fire of tribal politics. All because of a few billion tiny little bark beetles.

Okay, gotta go move my sprinklers! (We're not on fire in our neighborhood this year (yet), just watering the pasture.)
