I just had a wicked thought.

Don't get me wrong. I'm beside myself with anger over these morons who refuse masks and vaccinations because they put all the rest of us in danger, and are now hogging all the ICU beds that should be on reserve in case people have strokes, heart attacks, or need various surgeries. But instead, they have to wait because some idiot is laying on there with a ventilator tube coming out of his mouth because he was too stupid to get a shot. So yeah, I'm furious, as are all of you...but...

It seems to me that this ivermectin dewormer has to be somebody's idea of a joke. Seriously.

Whenever I get emails from the right wing-nut faction of my family, I just have to sit back and think, you know, you're going through all these contortions. Bleach, zinc, hydrochloraquin, ivermectin...why in the world wouldn't you just get the vaccine? I mean, I did. And then, you wouldn't have to worry as much.

I have never had polio, tuberculosis, rubella, smallpox or a plethora of other diseases that used to wipe out whole cities. Why? Vaccines, of course. I've been vaccinated. From a very young age.

And yet, these idiots from the Party of Death, Stupidity and Treason are refusing a free, easily obtainable vaccine for a horrible disease that can literally destroy your life over the long haul, if you survive. I know some long haulers and it is awful.

So, here's my wicked thought: I'm thinking of telling my rightwing relatives that I've heard that the mideval practice of bleeding people with leeches may have shown promise as a COVID treatment (somewhere).

Who knows? It might give Murika's leech farmers a whole new lease on life!

I mean, I'm not actually going to DO it...but it is an amusing thought.

1. I'm half convinced that QAnon was started by a liberal as a prank

just to see how much crap the gullible maroons would swallow.

Unless it was Russia, which is also a strong possibliity.

Of course, the MAGAts soon took over QAnon, so regardless of who started it, there's no way to put that genie back in the bottle.

2. I really have a hard time mustering up much of a sense of humor about suffering

Of others

They are misled and lied to.

Check out Laurie Garrett take on this kind of stuff

3. Yeah, I hear you. I do. But it is difficult to have much in the way of sympathy

for people who are spreading lies and misleading others to their deaths, when they themselves get this disease.

And no there is nothing funny about the suffering. But here's the thing - what about the suffering of those who did everything right, masked, got vaccinated, and now need some medical procedure which THEY CANNOT HAVE because the ICU beds are full. Misled or not, we still tried the old Nazi criminals at Nuremberg, and did not take, "I was just following orders," or "I genuinely believed that..." as excuses. Why? They were guilty of mass murder, genocide.

These Q people are also genocidal. Have you read about Steven Miller and his cabal, who, when Trump was still in power, 'devastated the system' so that the Afghanis who helped us in the forever war would not be able to come here for asylum because they are non-white. These people are genocidal, racist maniacs who want us all to live under a 'christian' theocracy.

So, no, no sympathy for them here. I'll save my sympathy for those who did not bring their suffering down upon their own heads in acts of self-inflicted ignorance. It ain't that hard to climb up out of the rabbit hole and find actual facts.

5. Totally agree.

Especially the part about taking up beds because of their refusal to get vaccinated. They are killing innocent people.

6. Agreed, nothing funny there either.

Yes I am familiar with Millerís intentional sabotage of the visa process for them. It was a racist bigoted evil action, one of many but so cynical and cruel. The cruelty was the point bit the sabotage was also the point. He belongs in prison.

Somehow somehow somehow we have to Beth through to these people one by one. We only get through this together.

4. Hell, I've even taken the rabies shots, in the arm not the stomach

About 20 years ago got my leg torn up by a feral Chesapeake Bay retriever. I was only too glad to get the shots. Thereís plenty of rabies in wild animals around here. But the shots were given by a doctor in a hospital. I didnít get them from a farm supply store.
