Georgia: Teen discovers mom's dead body in bed after neighbor's gun accidentally discharges

Teen discovers mom’s dead body in bed after neighbor’s gun accidentally discharges

A man is jailed and a Houston family in mourning after a woman’s 17-year-old son found her dead in bed of a gunshot wound to the head.

Police in Gwinnett County, Ga., arrested arrested Maxwell Williamson, 22, of Duluth after his gun went off accidentally while he was cleaning it. The bullet tore through his apartment wall into the bedroom of Carlether Foley, 36, hitting her in the head and killing her, police said.

Williamson was charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct and was being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Jail.

The tragedy unfolded just after 11:15 p.m. on Sept. 25, when police officers responded to an “unknown medical call” and found Foley unresponsive, cops said in a statement. They found a bullet hole in the apartment wall.

“The Gwinnett Fire Department arrived on scene and located Foley deceased with a gunshot wound to the head,” police said. “Williamson stated he had an accidental discharge while he was loading his firearm.”

Williamson’s attorney, Jeff Sliz, told police that after the gun went off, he knocked on the Foleys’ door to check on them but got no answer, reported WSB-TV. After jotting a note offering to pay for any damage, he went to work, not realizing he’d shot and killed someone.

The victim was from Houston but that's all that had to do with the story.

You get born, you eat life to live, possibly reproduce, until you die and your kids will do the same thing..cant find a clearer picture of futility than that.

However once in awhile there are awesome things happening.

The gun lobby and the NRA needs to be bankrupted and shut down. Private gun ownership needs to be curtailed . No more home arsenals.

And terrible things happen too.

I hope fascism gets defeated in this country.

Capitalism is forever regulated,no more corporate welfare and companies kept on a very short leash.

I hope wealthy people pay lots of taxes, and are shamed for thier greed and lies.

I hope one day there is better equality in wealth here.

An acceptance of diversity.

Real justice put to those who harm others lives.

Just for starters.

It may be a mistake but he needs a long sentence to think about his mistake and serve as an example for the other idiotic gundamentalists out there.

There's probably more to this story.

He probably didn't intentionally kill her, but maybe he was playing "yahoo" with his gun..Police can easily determine that...

There is almost literally an infinite number of directions the gun could've been pointed at the time it happened to accidentally go off.

Imagine standing on a platform, blind-folded. And someone tells you that somewhere, 10-15 feet away from you, is a mannequin. It could be above, below, or beside you, in any direction, and the mannequin could be oriented in any direction.

How many times do you think you'd have to try in order to successfully shoot that mannequin? How about to shoot it in the head?

One night he accidentally discharged his gun into the floor just above our bedroom. Lucky for us the bullet was stopped by a metal vent. Most people are just too dumb and careless to own a gun. This story is fucking tragic. That poor kid.

I used to work with an ex-FBI agent who had a party at his house. He had a gun safe, but left it unlocked so his kids could get access to his guns and very sharp knives. During the party he brought out a gun to show the kids that attended the party with his coworkers. My daughter wanted to hold it and I said she could as long as he checked all the chambers beforehand. He assured me the gun was empty, but I pushed back a few times refusing to let my daughter handle the gun before he checked it for bullets. He eventually did and lo and behold, there was a round in one of the chambers.

It's so easy to do since most humans don't have a problem with being on high alert or fully conscious at all times.

When my dad went to a friend's house and never came back, he left his gun which my mom stashed in her dresser drawer. We were latch key kids who got into everything and of course found and played with the gun. Thank god there were no bullets in it.

FBI Agent Accidentally Shoots Nightclub Customer When Agent Does A Backflip

A high-spirited off-duty FBI agent accidentally shot a person at a Denver nightclub early Saturday after doing a backflip while dancing.

The agent was captured on video as his gun tumbled from his waist holster to the floor after he executed his acrobatic maneuver. Just as he reached for the gun, it discharged with a loud pop, striking a patron in the leg. The agent tucked the weapon into his waistband, raised his hands and walked away from the crowd.
