Back from vacation and happy to say masking was everywhere

in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Boston Massachusetts. If anything they were all super strict on all public property and all private stores, at least in the towns that I visited. My last stop is here in Indiana staying with my daughter for a few weeks and sadly I have not seen very many masks in stores or restaurants.

PS - We saw Bernie Sanders at the Burlington, Vermont airport, and our tour director had a brief chat with him. Yep, he looks exactly like he does on TV, lol.

that the maple trees in southern Vermont/New Hampshire wouldn't be putting on their normal, beautiful, fall show. Apparently the monsoon-like rains we had all summer caused them to get some kind of seasonal fungal disease so the leaves are just turning brown. Go figure. Last year we had a near draught and they were spectacular. I hope they were more colorful up north for you. In any case, you can always visit again.

to see the leaves for the first time. Then something came up so we canceled it. Guess it is a good thing that we could not make it. Maybe next year..

Our cat wasn't doing great and we just had a beach vacation the end of August so decided to skip the leaves. Who knew this was such a great decision! So now plan on doing this next year. I will try to talk hubby into doing the beach earlier because his birthday week is always too windy, too many storms.

Climate change is leaving its mark on everything and you don't know from one year to the next what to expect. It's bound to be better next year anyway as Covid restrictions are discontinued. The local apple pie festival was a drive-thru event this year. That's just not the same.

because the colors in Vermont were spectacular and New Hampshire was a close second. Bright reds and golds bursting out all over. Maine and Mass were just starting, but by that time we were more interested in lobster, .

White Mountain. I have gorgeous pictures but unfortunately I don’t have a brain so I can’t post them.

We just finished a 2-week bus tour of western national parks that ended in Vegas. I was pleased to see that the casinos were strictly enforcing mask wearing. No problems that I saw!

mask down to smoke in the casino. It did not seem like a good idea to be indoors with people smoking. The flights were so cheap too. Oh well..

to Florida soon. Hardly a mask in sight. And now the Canadians will be arriving soon! Expect a surge north of the Border to follow.
