In my opinion, the Select Committee should go on the offensive.
This is the week they have subpoenaed the "Rally Organizers" to appear before the Committee. Some may show up and some may decline.
Those that defy the subpoenas should be treated just like Steve Bannon. Next week, they should subpoena Mike Pence, Mark Meadows, and Ivanka Trump. The next week, they should subpoena Donald Trump, Mo Brooks, and Kevin McCarthy. If they wish to fight it in the Courts, let them. Continue to apply the pressure on them all the time.

2. It's not in their nature...
For sure.
But, it would be worth the price of admission to see the look on Trump's face when told that Mike Pence has been subpoenaed. What could he say? |

5. He could say that he is waiting
for the courts to make a decision on Trump's claim of executive immunity, something that Bannon, who was not a part of Trump's administration can not claim.

4. I am hearing that Jeffrey Clark
has agreed to testify before the select committee, he is a big fish. He was acting assistant A.G. who wanted Trump to fire Rosen and he would take Rosen's place and do Trump's bidding. Sadly this has not been confirmed by anyone on the select committee, but if true it would be a huge step forward.

10. If it's to protect integrity of future prosecutions, great!
If it’s to “play fair” with the GOP, no. The nation needs to see what these treasonous bastards have done, are doing, and plan to do — if We the People don’t stop them.
It is sad, gab13by13. |

I feel it slip, slipping away.
The four generations of this family that put on a uniform to protect our Democracy are angry and disappointed in the "nice guys and gals" approach. |

And when I look at pictures like the one above all I see are pawns that WILL HAVE NO REAL SAY in an autocratic regime that TFG and his rich supporters envision. |

12. They should subpoena Qrump as soon as possible
We know he'll yell & scream & file lawsuits hoping to prolong going before the committee, it's his MO.
Plus he'll have some loyalists (they're everywhere) in government helping him along the way. So we should subpoena him ASAP. IMO |

I wouldn't mind scorching a few insurrectionists as we advance, though.

Last edited Sat Oct 23, 2021, 02:40 PM - Edit history (1) How about a "Liked" for each of the Jan 6 Select Committee people on Facebook so that we can comment, ask questions as a kind of public pressure? If their digital teams report social media communications, they might at least be aware of public feedback which might be different from their press interactions.
The Jan 6 Select Committee: Bennie Thompson (D MS) Chair Zoe Lofgren (D CA) Adam Schiff (D CA) Pete Aguilar (D CA) Stephanie Murphy (D FL) Jamie Raskin (D MD) Elaine Luria (D VA) Liz Cheney (R WY) Adam Kinzinger (R IL) Jan 6 Select Committee Staff: David Buckley, staff director Kristin Amerling, deputy staff director/chief counsel Hope Goins, counsel to the chairman Candyce Phoenix, senior counsel/senior advisor Tim Mulvey, communications director Timothy J. Heaphy, chief investigative counsel Joe Maher, general staff Denver Riggleman, general staff Putting on the pressure while they work is good. |

16. In my opinion, it is the courts that need to resolve this situation, anyway.
Put it into the court system as soon as possible, because it cannot be resolved by the legislative or executive branch. There is too much division.
Let the Courts be the referee. The sooner it can go to the courts, the better. It will help to remove much of the politics of the insurrection. |

18. Yes,
and it's up to DOJ to get it to the courts, the select committee can only make referrals to DOJ.

25. Here's justice.gov list of who's being 'processed' across at least 20 states. It's worth perusing;
the DOJ's hundreds of prosecutions have at least two charges for each, longer charges lists having the more serious charges like conspiracy.
https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/capitol-breach-cases It's my understanding (could be wrong) that it's federal prosecutors at state levels that handle these. So based on their charges, there turn out to be a couple hundred or more arrestees who are out on personal recognizance ... which is up to the judges. If I read the Jan 6 crowd right, so far the courts seem to be rolling out a cult of even more righteous self styled patriots. Some might be sorry, and some of their communities might be divided about supporting them, but we won't find out until all the 600+ have been sentenced. That's not until next year, I'm guessing. |
