1. Yikes!

Someone markets a "tracking device detector" for your keychain in 10-9-8-7-6... seconds. Multi-millions sold in the first 90 days.

4. Why? The tracker alerted her to the fact she was being tracked.

5. WHy? Because the tracker detecter would tell her she was being tracked...

Do you think everyone who has a GPS tracker put on their car surreptitiously would automatically just KNOW? Do you check on the undercarriage of your car and all points where a tracker could be placed every time you enter your car?

15. Read the article. Her cell phone told her she was being tracked.

16. I have a tracker like that on my keys. It requires an app before it tells you there are trackers

around you. Without it, she would not know.

2. They see a nice car out and about they want to steal and they attach a tracking device to it so

they can follow it home and steal it in the middle of the night from the owners driveway. Saw it on the news.

6. The manufacturers and sellers should be liable. Apple, Amazon and their Chinese lead manufacturers

to name a few.

8. So why do these devices exist?

I would be looking to start a major "whack on the weenie" campaign against Apple and other facilitators.

9. I have one in my suitcase and one in my car.

When I travel, I know when my luggage goes astray. And I can find my car weeks later when I forget where I parked it.

11. Unfortunately, like a good sharp knife, they're a tool

that can be used for good or for ill.

13. According to the Apple ad...

AirTag is designed to discourage unwanted tracking. If someone elseís AirTag finds its way into your stuff, your iPhone will notice itís traveling with you and send you an alert. After a while, if you still havenít found it, the AirTag will start playing a sound to let you know itís there.

Of course, if you happen to be with a friend who has an AirTag, or on a train with a whole bunch of people with AirTag, donít worry. These alerts are triggered only when an AirTag is separated from its owner.

Which is fine, I guess, if you have an IPhone AND have the app. Not much good for Android users. Or people without smart phones period.

14. Haven't tracked this to the source yet -

But I'm pretty sure it's like most of the other "Oh My God!!!! The Sky is Falling!!!" big scary thing trends

My grand-niece (daughter of the right wing covidiot in our family) just posted it happened to her and another woman at the airport.

When things like these start popping up like flies - expecially from anonymous (here) or suspicious (my niece) - I tend to doubt they are real. And they are usually confirmed to be the latest big scary thing trend.

Like this:

https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/09/17/viral-airtag-discovery-behind-license-plate-likely-staged

And this:

While most of us non-predators can only imagine the reasons for secretly placing tracking devices on someoneís car, the very existence of these $29 AirTags and the countless others like them are undoubtedly going to make people feel unsafe ó and are a fertile breeding ground for conspiracy theories and anti-sex work bias alike.
