DeathSantis is mad that people are commenting on Nazis in Florida. DeathSantis needs these Nazis to ger re-elected and Deathsantis does not want us mentioning the fact that he likes Nazis

The first rule of the MAGA movement: Never condemn white supremacists.
In 2016, then-candidate Donald Trump in an interview with Jake Tapper refused to disavow former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, who had publicly endorsed his campaign. (Trump later improbably claimed his refusal to disavow Duke was due to a faulty earpiece.) As president, Trump famously insisted there were very fine people on both sides in the 2017 clash between protesters and neo-Nazis in Charlottesville. And during his 2020 debate with Joe Biden, Trump repeatedly avoided condemning the white supremacist group Proud Boys, instead telling them to stand back and stand by.,,,,,
On Monday, CNN reported that DeSantis lashed out at those who called on him to condemn Nazi demonstrations that had taken place over the weekend near Orlando, accusing his political opponents of trying to smear me as if I had something to do with it. He insisted he would not be playing their game......
At a time of rising antisemitism and just weeks after another terrorist attack on a synagogue in Texas, DeSantiss reaction is stunning but not surprising. At its most basic level, the MAGA movement has always been about white supremacy. Its members have induced hysteria that foreigners and non-White Americans are taking over the country and marginalizing White Americans. This sentiment was central to Trumps anti-immigrant rhetoric, his sympathy for white militia groups and his fearmongering about Black people moving to White suburbs. It is what drives the efforts to suppress voting.

I agree with Rubin that the MAGA views on white supremacy explains why the MAGA idiots are upset about President Biden wanting to nominate an African American female to replace Justice Breyer.

Nazis are a key part of DeathSantis' base

Ron DeSantis thinks that being asked to condemn neo-Nazi demonstrators is playing their game. Instead of doing the right thing and clearly condemning a group supporting genocide and white supremacy, he made it completely about himself, his own grievances, and pettiness.
DeSantis did call the Demonstrators jackasses and malcontents, but he never condemned their ideology.
He never pushed back against their white supremacy.
Anyone paying attention to our Florida state legislative session can deduce why.
Florida Republicans and Ron DeSantis are working hard to make Florida an intolerant place. They are pushing bills to ban the discussion of LGBTQ topics in schools. They want to prohibit discussion regarding Floridas racist past that causes discomfort to whites. They want parents to be able to sue schools and libraries to remove books from curriculums if they disagree with the topics.
Its in this sort of environment that hatred is emboldened. It would be nice for Ron DeSantis to take a break from talking about the made-up threat of critical race theory and instead clearly denounce the actual threat of Nazi demonstrators in our communities.
