https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/february-8-2022First Pence, now McConnell, NBCs legal commenter Katie S. Phang noted. A big hammer is about to drop and they dont want to be in the path.
More odd, though, was Representative Troy Nehlss (R-TX) claim on Twitter that the Capitol Police Intelligence Division on November 20, 2021, investigated my office illegally and that Capitol Police leadership was maliciously investigating me in an attempt to destroy me and my character.
The Capitol Police responded that an officer found the office unlocked, entered it, and saw a white board with text about body armor and an accompanying map of the Capitol campus.

(46,576 posts)because I suspect Putin is calculating that our country will be in disarray and unable to react quickly to what he plans to do in the Ukraine.
When you look at it through those lens, all the MAGAs and Russian supporters, like Tucker, are active Russian agents.

(20,872 posts)Putin fucked up thinking president Biden couldn't handle the situation. All of the NATO countries are united thanks to president Biden. It is Putin who will be denounced as a rogue nation and the sanctions are going to devastate Russia.
Putin underestimated president Biden and now he is cornered in having to do something to save face. The NATO alliance is stronger than ever.

Putin really lost alot of power when Trump got voted out. Biden called his bluff. Putin just misses the old days when he could so easily control the US.

Botany
(70,291 posts).... 2 reasons:
1) So they can blame Joe Biden for not controlling "it."
2) Chaos theory. In which the disruption allows the minority to have some kind of control over
the majority. Ron DeSanitis & Greg Abbott are both very smart men and they know their
policies as per masks, vaccines, and testing will spread the disease.
BTW my is that the dumb ass Canadian anti vax truckers (a really small minority) not only
are getting input from Russia but right wing dark money billionaires are funding them too.

Putin is a cold hearted, destructive tyrant.......... But don't ever think for a minute he is stupid..........
He probably has Plan B, Plan C, etc all in place.............
We should take NOTHING for granted concerning Putin and praising ourselves at this point.........
Want proof? Look at all he has accomplished in destroying the U.S. economy and Democracy without even starting a war, firing a missile or rocket. And how easily and effortlessly he has done it.........

(19,917 posts)We spent a lot of time lining up over 100 congressmen, including some senators. It started out perfectly. At 1 p.m., Gosar and Cruz did exactly what was expected of them, Navarro told The Daily Beast. It was a perfect plan. And it all predicated on peace and calm on Capitol Hill. We didnt even need any protestors, because we had over 100 congressmen committed to it.

It's seldom that you hear someone indict themselves and others on national TV. But Navarro, the arrogant prick to the end, couldn't help himself. He was proudly describing what they'd done, what a brilliant plan they'd executed. The only moment when Navarro appeared to realize what he was doing was when Ari said (paraphrasing here):
You realize you're describing a coup?
Of course, Navarro disagreed but there was a small expression of shock, a stumbling around verbally to recenter himself before going on.
Amazing!

"Also today, prosecutors revealed their evidence for the trial of a January 6 defendant, Guy Wesley Reffitt, allegedly a member of the Texas Three Percenter militia group, mobilized against the U.S. government. The trial is set to begin on February 28. Their list of evidence is 11 pages long and extraordinarily thorough. It includes videos, phone records, texts, hotel receipts, pictures, and interviews, including ones with the defendants children, who will testify that Reffitt threatened them to keep them quiet. His daughter will testify that she heard her father tell them that if they turned him in to law enforcement, they would be traitors, and that traitors get shot. Also testifying will be one of the defendants colleagues in the Texas Three Percenter militia who traveled with him to D.C."
