Seems like every other day this guy says something like “public institutions are inherently corrupt and our goal is to destroy them” and people just sort of nod along but act as if he is orchestrating a good government campaign

in stating that schools are quasi "state-run monopolies on the transmission of education". But his indoctrination into neoliberal economics is showing. He'd probably be fine with our taxes being funneled into for-profit [insert anything here].

Maybe he's being a little more duplicitous in his assessment that schools are not a "marketplace of ideas". He just doesn't like what that so-called "market" is "teaching" us, which is that neoliberal economics is destroying the planet for profit, and monopolizing the Earth in ways much worse than he seems to understand. Naughty, naughty teachers, pointing out the injustice of all this!

When Capitalism becomes your God, you'll rationalize selling clean air and water, and the only individual right anyone has is to pay up or die. That's where they are at now.

But our planet is not a "marketplace". We either learn it's "rules" or it will kill us all off. That's what a true education is all about.
