2. 2014 was really bad here with the pro Russian BS.
So many trolls and the easily lead about by their noses were all in for Putin here. It was truly hit or miss if the propaganda would be hidden.
So, yeah, it was a big thing back then, even here. Russia used to own the narratives (propaganda) hands down on the internet until this overreach in Ukraine. A lot of Ukraine people work in IT remotely for various companies, including many here in the US. They were ready for this and owned his stagnant ass. They've won the information war hands down this round. I'll give a hat tip here to social media platforms. I tend to despise them since 2016, but in this instance they've done better. |

3. I recently checked out the archives here from 8 years ago.
Of the discussions pertaining to Ukraine. It was absolutely unbelievable. Overwhelmingly pro Putin. People siding with Putin over Obama.
At least practically everyone participating in those discussions is now gone. |

6. It was nuts.
I remember fighting how RT was a Russian propaganda site. I was still doing that in 2016 and it was still being used then as a news source. Crazy stuff.
There was this one repeat troll who was pro Assad and all things Putin propaganda who had their loyal followers here. I'd tracked them down to other international comments sections and other venues. We'd ban them, they'd come back, lather rinse repeat, and the same members were always their groupies. Then you'd have the ones who'd said Russian propagandist weren't wasting time here. We didn't matter, we're inconsequential, etc. Umm, yeah, I know they were because I was on MIRT and saw them spreading disinformation. Over and over again. Until the primary was over we had little control over them. Again, it was nuts. I've seen some stuff. |

9. Hi, sorry for taking awhile.
I'm temporarily without a computer, so it's harder for me to find and post links. Will post some soon.
In the meantime, found one today!!! https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216504670 |

10. Oh blech! Yes, I ended my subscription to The Nation a long while back
due to their Putin-love.
Sad to see it still carries some weight around here. ![]() ![]() |

5. After viewing that line-up of video clips my question is can FOX embarrass themselves any more?
That was pitiful and makes Putin look even worse.
