Anyone want to ask Manchin about that child tax credit now?
Since he seems so keen on not rocking any boats to combat the Court's likely decision.
Gonna be a few more kids in the future for families who can't entirely afford them.

1. They want high poverty rates. Makes for an obedient, docile population.

3. There's a George Carlin quote that goes something like this
"Conservatives want live babies so they can train them to be dead soldiers."
There's future wars of profit planned, and the rich old white ghouls sure as shit ain't going to fight them themselves. |

4. I miss George Carlin's wisdom and wit.
Wish he was still with us. He would have a field day.
Yes the MIC needs bodies to fight for profit. |

5. By the time I learned about that quote...
I'd already seen the various wars for profit come to light...in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.
Then seeing Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911 (I think that's the one) where he described economic disasters like what happened in Flint Michigan, where the job situation was so bad most young folks had no choice but to enter the military, because there was nothing else available that would get them out of poverty. That part made me realize it was happening everywhere in the us where the republicans were in charge purposely creating desperate situations where the same non-choice was available. It wasn't a joke anymore. I don't think it ever really was. It was a sarcastic observation of reality. |

6. I saw how much money the MIC made during the Viet Nam war.
I am a military brat, grew up in the Air Force. I was a teenager during the Viet Nam war, living on a military installation in the Far East.
I knew military contractors and their private industry contacts/suppliers. The Florida condos, nice cars, etc. And I knew about the huge USAF cargo planes coming back from Da Nang every week full of body bags and toe tags. So when Iraq, Afghanistan wars were started, I knew exactly what was happening. I had seen it before. Yes, high unemployment, low wages, lack of affordable college, no healthcare make for a lot of military recruits. |

2. The SALT Cap
Guarantees the many many poor people in WV will have their children's needs met.
Also - if I recall correctly - the GOP Tax scam in 2017 provided for welfare without work for those in rural areas. They gave many of his constituents a freebie. This doesn't impact his voters at all. |
