I'm sorry but that alone cracks me up. Bunch of larping khaki wearing incels literally did all this just to get busted by the feds. Honestly how would these people win in a civil war? They are legit fucking carpooling in a uhaul! We are suppose to be afraid of them...yeah okay I'm laughing my transgender ass off all day from reading the amount of posts on reddit from the relentless roasting.
We shouldn't be afraid of these people. They are clueless moronic people that I'm surprised can even tie their own shoes.
Happy pride y'all

(12,581 posts)There's a federal statute against crossing state lines with the intent of doing violence.
Rittenhouse somehow skated on that one because he claimed he was didn't really intend to do more than show support, be helpful, whatever, and went there as an individual.
But these guys actions clearly indicated they were part of an organization -like a conspiracy , almost - with the distinct and coordinated intent to physically disrupt a sanctioned event and harass a protected class.
There's clear evidence of intent. The Feds are going to be able to bring felony charges against these yahoos.

(201 posts)The hatred of these people towards the LGBTQ+ community, in some cases, is absolutely off the charts. I have seen it many times from protesters during pride events that I have attended. During Anita Bryant's crusade in the seventies and the AIDS crisis in the eighties, it was pretty bad. That was before social media, which has made things much, much worse.
NCLefty
(3,678 posts)They aim to hurt, and if someone dies I think they are fine with it too. They can be the next Rittenhouse hero to the right.

(3,660 posts)What if they hadn't caught these guys. Didn't they just arrest a boogaloo boy for arson? The same arson the right blamed on BLM. He wasn't the first one caught. They wanted to start something and blame the BLM.

(16,820 posts)People that stupid are just liable to do any goddam thing! There's going to be an ugly incident soon involving GLBTs. I can feel it, with the way they've been talking more and more shit about trans people, especially, but also about gay people and lesbians. I would be on my guard with Pride stuff this month. Just always pay attention to what's going on around you.

Haggard Celine
(16,820 posts)I'm gay and people know and I don't think I'm in any danger, but there is so much shit being said about trans people, I think you're very brave. It sucks that this is reality, but these aren't good times. I wish you the best.

(10,150 posts)I've confronted people the past few weeks calling me faggot and freak. They get fucked terrified when I confront them and get angry. They run away and mumble. They have a lot of mouth, not enough balls.

(16,820 posts)I'd probably end up being a drunk or a drug addict. I'd have to numb the pain somehow. But that's how different people deal with things. I'm glad you're strong, because there's always going to be more assholes. That's the way this world is.
vercetti2021
(10,150 posts)But I channel their hatred into action. They think I'm gonna be silent and take it? Na they better back themselves up or else they will get confronted by a 6'4 tall ass angry bitch.

(16,820 posts)I was just talking to a friend of mine the other day, I said I was reading that the younger generation are 5% trans and 20% gay. Just think, if that trend continues, our retirement is going to be awesome! There will be all of these people just free and different and it won't be boring at all. At least after we have our civil war.

And your right, these people aren't smart enough to execute a big plan. But individually they are capable of hurting people. That's what worries me.

(90 posts)There are two types of criminals; Stupid and Brilliant.
The stupid ones don't understand the ramifications or minutiae of the crimes they wish to commit, and luck can only get them so far. So they tend to get caught at a very high rate.
The brilliant treat each crime like an engineering project and account for every contingency possible. So they don't tend to get caught. They also rarely commit crimes based on ideology. It's just not worth it.
People of average intelligence do understand the implications of committing crimes, but they're aware that they aren't necessarily equipped to pull it off. So they refrain.
These particular idiots got caught, but being stupid means that unless they are caught first, they will do terrible things. Their stupidity makes them easy to catch, and unlikely they will get away with anything they do... but it also means they will act on their impulses to do harm.

(17,305 posts)But these are the Brown Shirts of America. No matter how stupid that they are, they are dedicated to bring their hateful brand of America to you, and they are willing to fight for it. They are noting to laugh about. Slapping them with misdemeanors will just make them martyrs to their cause, without any real costs. It will solidify their "soldier" credentials.
Hopefully some prosecutor will find a felony conspiracy charge for this bunch. Otherwise, they learn from their mistakes and become stronger, not weaker.
Their behavior is serious and it is widespread.

(1,962 posts)I can't.
These are the same lunatics who were behind Charlottesville, and the actions of their comrades got Heather Heyer killed and a number of people injured.
This is 2022 and... It's so different this time. So much worse. So much uglier. I've come to expect right-wing snark and a few OQP slaps in the face during Pride Month but... After 5 months of a full-on onslaught, it's quadrupled here in June. The hateful bills. The threats. The hate. All of it. Add to that the average of more than 10 mass shootings per week in 2022....
We're dealing with people whose only "issues" with the Pulse massacre is "should've killed more" and "needs to happen more often." What happened in Idaho yesterday could've been serious. Probably would've been had they not gotten arrested before they could do something.
I've had a real fear now for two weeks that we would have a serious and violent incident at a Pride event this month. I'm now fully expecting it, sadly. Someone's gonna plant a bomb at one, or shoot one up. We're going to have mass fatalities at a Pride event with the victims' only crimes being how they were born.
These people are stupid and filled with hate. All they hear in the news is their QOP "leaders" spreading lies and hate about us. As we've seen before: When the QOP talks, the idiots act. These 31 lunatics are domestic terrorists. We're dealing with domestic terrorism.
I hope I'm wrong on my prediction. I do. But it's hard to think otherwise. We may have had a major tragedy prevented yesterday.
