4. I just want to see TFG in a jumpsuit that matches his face, and I don't much care why.

You can get 20 years for wire fraud; TFG is 76.

6. The DoJ doesn't make deals with political parties; if there's a plea deal

7. Wire fraud is the most likely charge we're going to get as that is probably the easiest to prove.

I don’t think DoJ will charge with anything, though. DoJ will not prosecute if they don’t believe they can prove their case or receive a conviction. No jury will convict him as one deplorable will wind up on the jury and that’s all he needs.

10. It does seem that way, doesn't it? A wire fraud case should be pretty

documentable. Easier to prosecute than one that depends on determining the intent of tfg.

8. Donnie going to prison remains remarkably improbable

For the life of me I can't imagine a jury of 12, after Donnie's lawyers have done their voir dire, voting *unanimously* to convict him of *anything*

There's always going to be at least one supporter who refuses to convict. Or some idiot who thinks no former president should ever go to jail, or whatever he does was official business. Something.

And even then, if he's eventually convicted and sentenced, after years of delay because of novel legal issues, his lawyers will simply say any prison sentence is a death sentence due to his advanced age and declining health. Bone spurs, whatever.

With a financial crime, though, he could settle for money. Donnie winding up with a many many million dollar fine, that I can see.

But the fines and prison time affiliated with wire fraud are no laughing matter.

Others have brought up good points so I won’t repeat.

But, I will add that we have to remember that Donald Trump has an enormous ego. It needs to be fueled constantly to keep him emotionally alive.

If Trump were to be found guilty on various tax/financial crimes, and the punishment involved curtailing of all financial arrangements with the public like donations to funds, etc, this cuts him off from his adoring MAGA fans. If he is found guilty and not allowed to have his lifelines to his fans, that will be as painful for him as someone doing actual time.

Do I want him to sit in a jail cell until pigs fly? Of course I do. But I agree with others that the possibility of him ever facing a jail cell is like a trillion to one. Maybe they could sentence him to house arrest. “No golf for you”!!
