Just because Nancy Reagan got away with it, does not mean you should.
You are testifying you knew he had delusions and mental instability and DID NOT DO ONE DAMN THING. You should rot in a jail (not one of those country club ones) for the rest of your life. You should have gone to Congress, to the Press, to the American people. Imagine what other horrors he could have done....he did a lot.

(50,773 posts)his lies he had lost his mind.
I don't believe - and I think Barr didn't believe either - that tfg EVER believed his lies. He knew exactly what he was doing.
That being said the result is the same, and Barr should definitely be in jail.

(32,061 posts)It WASN'T what he was saying. As you pointed out, there's that big "IF." Yes, Barr knows just as well as we do that Trump knew exactly what he was doing. Only his cult follower believe his lies. He's not "detached from reality." He's a corrupt asshole who was desperate to hang onto his power. All one has to do is watch all the pre-election speeches and press conferences, where Trump was setting up the whole "big lie." He told us what was going to happen. That's not being "detached from reality."
And, yes. Bill Barr should be occupying another cell in the same cell block as Trump, and the rest of the grifters who surrounded him.

(10,110 posts)They knew when they voted against impeaching him twice.
Barr knew when he lied about the Mueller report.
They've known since Trump was a candidate. All the stories about his racism, sexual assaults, ripping off people, cheating, avoiding the Vietnam war, etc were out there.
They knew. Said nothing. And then they enabled him.
Trump is not the problem.
The Republican party is the problem.
They'll find someone else and do it again.

(14,709 posts)but I think their are other emotions involved. Many seem almost giddy to be able to speak out claiming that they are under oath and so must now tell the truth.
