I have watched a lot of important events take place live on TV.

A lot of those events have been bad....but some have been quite wonderful.

I saw Barack Obama celebrate his win and be sworn in twice. And today I saw Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson sworn in.

My mother died 31 years ago. There has been a lot of things I am grateful she did not live to see...Donald Trump is high in that list. But I so regret that my white, southern (lived her whole life in GA), Democratic mama did not live to see President Obama or Justice Jackson. She would have been so proud.
