January 6th, 2021 to remain part of the body politic.
When an injured limb becomes so gangrenous and necrotic that the stench of it is overpowering, one does not try to "get used to it" or ignore it or even "heal" it; one amputates the rotting flesh in order to allow the body to survive.
Those who tried to help Trump succeed in his coup attempt continue to spew their poison into our democracy. They must be separated from government and discarded.

(3,079 posts)I'd also say the same for the "necrotic three" that were appointed to SCOTUS by that orange pustule. Even better if the horrific and unqualified hundreds of judicial appointments by TFG could be amputated as well, and reappointed by Biden. This would go a long way toward healing the damage done by TFG.
Seriously, I cannot comprehend why ANY judicial appointments by a twice-impeached con artist that tried to steal power by overthrowing the U.S. Government, and that had no business being anywhere near The Oval, can be allowed to stand.
Oh, and let's kick out of Congress every R congress critter that enabled TFG and his despicable coup. While we're at it, make sure that NONE of them can EVER run for office again. Not even dogcatcher.
There's more on my wish list, but this would be a good start.

(2,534 posts)It's from early in The Mikado. One lyric goes "My intention, Most Sublime,/ Is to make the punishment fit the crime."
It makes me smile.
And I didn't even get to the part about frog-marches and the orange pustule actually wearing orange...

(16,900 posts)who voted against certifying Electoral College votes, can we charge them with
aiding and abetting FailedCoupGuy in his attempt to overthrow our government?
SickOfTheOnePct
(7,290 posts)The Constitution calls for that certification vote to take place; if "No" wasn't a valid option, then there's no need for a vote.
Not to mention that some Dems voted against certification after the 2016 election, and we wouldn't want them charged for doing so.
Charge any House members who may have helped the rioters or helped plan the insurrection? Absolutely.
Charge House members for not voting the way we liked during a Constitutionally mandated vote? No thanks.
