Proud Delawarean Driving By Dover Air Force Base

When I'm not quarantined with COVID, I often drive by Dover AFB on the way to the beach (day trips on the weekends). There is a lot of activity there, as well as some private transport planes. I Googled one that I saw "Atlas Air" and was pleased to know that they have been enlisted to help ferry supplies for Ukraine

Operating under existing contracts with the Defense Department, the three cargo airlines are carrying ammunition for 155mm howitzers, Javelin anti-tank missiles, Stinger shoulder-fired antiaircraft systems, pistols, body armor and other equipment, according to NBC and the Pentagon.

A 747 can fit about 42 pallets of artillery shells or about 3,000 rounds, NBC said.

Unmarked tractor trailers are delivering explosives to Dover Air Force Base, the hub of the Ukraine resupply effort, from ammunition depots across the country.

I remember being really scared during the Cuban missile crisis that they would target it

When President Biden is home in Wilmington, he lives and attends church about 5 miles from my house (I am definitely "on the other side of the tracks" ), so I figure that I'll be incinerated in any kind of nuclear conflict.

I’m pretty sure his house is within walking distance. I may walk down there one day if I get brave. So I don’t know whether to feel extra safe or extra vulnerable. For some reason I feel reassured when I see his motorcade go by. I live in the apartment complex in Greenville not in a big house

And I love having him around. I wish he came home more often; seems like 45 was ALWAYS at Mar A Lago. But there is much work to do...........

On a side note, the Brew Ha Ha near you is one of my favorite coffee shops (although I usually get their chai tea).

They were having an intense serious discussion. Having photographed Joe for years for the paper I could tell from his face it was not a family issue. It was not that long after the Charlottesville Nazi march. They weren’t schmoozing either like they usually do. After that I went around telling everybody Joe is going to run for president. I often walk to Brewhaha. unfortunately for my wallet, Janssen’s grocery is also in walking distance

He's PIC on 767's delivering stuff for Amazon. He used to fly 747's for Kalitta cargo to the sandbox a while back. He may be called to action again if they are sending 747's over.
