5. Pence's RFRA fiasco redux

How long before Indiana modifies these bans?

Illinois will gladly accept relocated businesses. Illinois also should expose hypocritical right to life Hoosiers that come to Illinois for reproductive healthcare needs and send them back to Indiana.

6. Indiana General Assembly....

Just like with the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, another christofascist piece of legislation that was passed in the heat of the moment with little thought by a handful of self-righteous assholes, these people don’t realize how deeply they step in their own shit until they are up to their eyeballs in it, as blowflies swarm around their heads.

RFRA was almost immediately amended when the economic blowback managed to penetrate the thick skulls of these people. I don’t know if that will work this time. The religious zealotry is much stronger than it was, as well as the ignorance. There were more legislators than I care to think who wanted NO exceptions to abortion, and based their no votes on that point. Legislators who made it clear that they do not give one DAMN about women’s health, or lives, because….the BABIES. One actually called women who exercised their right “murderers.” Another said he was there to represent Jesus…not his constituents.

I hope the backlash comes quick and strong, but it won’t matter because the tenor and makeup of the GA has changed into a body of people on a righteous crusade, rather on one deliberately making laws to benefit all people.

I was told this week that my life, my daughters’ lives, pale in comparison to a clump of cells. That rape is not the heinous crime we all know it to be. That forced birth is a sign of God’s love and compassion.

Well, fuck that.

These children of God need to know this:

* The Old Testament that was quoted on the floor extensively this week, was a violent book of revenge and retribution. There is a reason why the New Testament supplanted the Old. The New Testament is about grace, forgiveness, and recognition that everyone walks a different path, and that the path walked is between the individual and their God.

* Not everyone believes, or follows, the above. So I am hoping that other faiths immediately challenge this law as a violation of the Constitution’s prohibition of the establishment of a state religion. Because it was made abundantly clear this week that Christianity rules supreme here.

* Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and render unto God what it God’s. IOW, do your jobs as ELECTED OFFICIALS and leave your Bibles at home.

Hoosiers, remember in November. Vote them ALL out before they can do any more unconscionable damage to this state and its people.

VOTE THEM OUT. ENOUGH.

7. Ohh that would be karma if the RFRA was used to overturn the ban

That would get those christofascist all in a lather, while pushing for basic health care freedom.

9. Bye Bye 500

Guess I'll never see the race. Won't be going to Indy for any reason. Sorry Mr. Penske, wish it were different.

13. Remember tRump gave Roger Penske the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He's a GQP grifter

like the rest of the rich. It's time we tell wealthy corporations to stop supporting the repubes who are suppressing our votes.

18. I Wouldn't Be Surprised

If certain race team owners pulled out of the 500. (Thinking of Ganassi Racing). Or drivers from more liberal countries boycott the 500.

He jokes that he passed the IQ test, so they let him leave Indiana. Makes me wonder why Pete Buttegieg went back after his stint in the Army.

17. Not Surprised

My husband is from there. It was the Bible Belt when he left 35 years ago. I'm just worried about his two young nieces, who are both college-age. Especially because their mother is a crazy Christian fundie.
