Kash Patel, a Trump loyalist and former Defense Department appointee, made a claim in May on the right-wing website Breitbart that Trump had previously declassified the material that was at Mar-a-Lago. Trump had designated Patel as a representative with the National Archives.

someone already thought of it...

I guess the question is then, are there any limitations on what information the president can declassify.

Actually this may get more interesting as, if the DOJ is not pursuing the possession of classified documents thing, what are they after?

I doubt they fall under the same ability to just wave a wand and declassify them.

If that's the case, then it is obvious that he declassified them just to clear his ass, and there must be some kind of law for endangering national security.
