1. I think the guy is guilty and going down for attempted murder.

2. It's really fascinating to see the video after reading so much commentary

And there was a lot of speculation and commentary. Where people were, how long it took, possible ulterior motives, etc. Some reports made it sound - and some people complained about - why it took police so long to act during the attack.

Nope. They knocked. The door was opened revealing that situation. Door opening to assailant attacking took 12 seconds. Police tackled the suspect two to three seconds later.

Also, Olive. No one likes Olive. Poor Olive.

7. Not surprising to see that's your take here.

If you think this video exonerates their actions, that says more about you than them.

I see the police giving this armed intruder a benefit of the doubt that most do not receive in similar situations and it led to an innocent man getting bludgeoned in his own home.

This certainly is not a how-to video on how to handle such a case, I'll tell you that.

8. I kind of love the internet

It's like Marvel come to life. How is Armchair Hero Man not yet a thing?

Feels like it should be.

This is about what reasonable people can reasonably believe.

So, yep. Good with my take.

10. There's a difference in being reasonable vs. defending.

Reasonable would be admitting that it happened within a few moments so you can understand if some want to give the cops some leeway in their reactions but understand that this should be an example of how NOT to handle similar situations in the future.

Defending is what several people were doing in those threads you referenced.

So, which are you? Do you think the cops deserve no criticism for their (in)actions here?

11. So you're saying 10-12 seconds to assess what is happening

Is an unreasonable stretch of time?

This is what you're saying? That police who walk into a situation, don't know who the people are (which one's the aggressor?), and see two men holding a hammer should go in flailing immediately? Should they have tackled Paul Pelsoi to the ground just to be safe and then sort out who was who later?

Human beings take half a second to understand what they are seeing. In real life. Not internet commentary life.

So what would be the training here? "Please condition your neurons to have god-like processing power to understand things in a few seconds instead of a few seconds plus a couple?"

And this is the reasonable take?

Hokay. Well, it's the internet, man. Anything's possible.

13. I'm saying that there was ample time for them to intervene and prevent this from happening.

Some in those threads argued that they basically opened the door and then the attack immediately occurred. That clearly was not what happened. They had time to act and they did not.

Judging from your response, you fall into the defender category and not the reasonable category. Thanks for clarifying.

On the plus side, there are still two left in the tent.

3. Omg that was so intense

Horrible, absolutely horrible!

Also now right wingers who were claiming the assailant was NAKED (and they were insinuating he was there for a tryst) can STFU.
