so the saying ignorance of the law is no excuse

is not really true I gather. In pretty much every crime Trump is involved in, they are hung up on intent. Did he know it was illegal? Did he really mean to steal votes and so on ?

Maybe it's specific to white collar crimes? Why are laws written as such ?

Because for sure I won't get out of a speeding ticket claiming I did not really mean it or know it was illegal .
