Nikki Haley was saying some blather about how Dems had ruined the economy with all the Covid money. Zap! hit the mute button. Then change the channel. See how far I last in the MSNBC analysis show. I how such low tolerance for Rep bullshit.

(396 posts)I hate the modern-day debate format.
For the general election, I'd love to see a long-format podcast with the two candidates. One good moderator (easier said than done, I know), no time limit, and more of a conversation than a "debate" (again harder said than done). I don't see how that format could be any worse than the crap we see nowadays with timed responses, short rebuttals, no candidate questioning of each other, etc.
I suppose townhall type "debates" are slightly better than podium "debates", but campaigns put so many constraints, they're nearly worthless circuses, too.
Whatever could be worked out, if a candidate refused to participate (even under current formats), voters shouldn't allow it. Just watch, the Republican candidate will cowardly refuse to debate in the general.

(896 posts)As soon as they started lying about inflation, gas prices and Hunter Biden I switched off.
Voters love to blame President Biden for the ups and downs of the economy. They seem to have forgotten Biden has only been President for less than 3 years and inherited an absolute mess thanks to Trumps incompetence and the pandemic.
Plus Republicans have controlled the House all year and haven't done a single thing to address economic issues.
The ignorance of the average American on how our government works is astounding. And after 40 years of trickle down economics they should know better than to trust Republicans
