What If The Trump Coup Was More Involved?

This link is detailed, lengthy, and believable.

Trump, through Chris Miller and Kash Patel controlled the military and armed forces, most importantly controlled the national Guard.

Chris Miller clearly was behind not sending the Nations Guard in.

There were more agencies involved: ICE and the Secret Service were in on the coup, or so it seems, seeing as those agencies deleted their phone information from Jan. 6th. Coincidence? I think not.

Well worth the read, we almost had an autocracy;

I believe he was also involved in getting classified documents for Trump.

The rule/law that a president can give out security clearances when the person involved can't get one through the procedure needs to be changed. A lot of our nation's rules and laws were based on people in charge, like the president, being honest, patriotic people.

Trump is clearly a Putin/Saudi/Bibi asset.

Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller works in the aircraft cabin with Chief of Staff Kash Patel, after departing Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., Jan. 14, 2021. (DoD photo by Lisa Ferdinando)

In 2017 and 2018, while serving as a senior Republican staffer in Congress, Patel helped lead the House probe of "Russiagate," through which he claimed to have uncovered a "Deep State" inside the U.S. government that targeted Trump with a federal investigation into his alleged ties to Russia.

Patel joined the Trump administration in 2019, and in the final year of Trump's presidency, he was appointed acting deputy director of national intelligence -- the second-in-command of the entire U.S. intelligence community -- and then chief of staff to the acting U.S. defense secretary, a position critics claimed he was unqualified to hold.

Last year, Trump appointed Patel as one of his official representatives to the National Archives. Then, when the Justice Department's investigation of Trump's handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago became public, Patel claimed Trump declassified large batches of documents before leaving office -- a claim that reportedly landed Patel before the federal grand jury investigating the matter.

Patel now serves as a key political adviser to Trump, and he has become such a popular voice for Trump's agenda that Trump's former adviser Roger Stone recently said he named his dog "Kash" as an "homage" to Patel.

For example, he doesn't want a pregnant military member transferred from Alabama where abortion laws are strict to Chicago where they can get an abortion.

So that is his first attempt to damage military readiness.
Now that he is delaying appointments and promotions it is his second attempt to attack military readiness, and he is succeeding so far.

Trump may be dumber than dirt, but look what’s happened over the past 40+ years. Regan’s election (Iran-Contra, remember?) was the first real step. Since then it’s been union-busting, oligarch-making tax cuts, privatization of everything (including things like health care and prison which in my opinion should never be privatized), shredding of the social safety net, the capture of our judiciary…this is just what I can think of off the top of my head. Thom Hartmann himself references this in many of his columns. Trump is just the latest useful idiot, this plan has been going on for decades.

It stands to reason that government agencies are just as riddled with MAGA traitors as our general population is. There's no reason to expect that the Department of Justice is any exception, and that it's immune to the rot that Hartmann describes in the Department of Defense and the Department of State.

When Merrick Garland took the helm at DOJ, he would have known that that there were many hardcore MAGAs scattered high and low throughout his department and its agencies. People who would put Trump over country, and who would actively impede and sabotage investigations into the insurrection while leaking secrets and tipping off targets.

It would be difficult and painstaking work for him to thread his way through such a minefield of would-be saboteurs. Isn't it possible that's part of the reason investigations proceeded at such an aggravatingly slow pace before finally picking up speed and snowballing the way they have?

Got promoted to 1LT and there was a party for me at the O-Club that night. A Major asked me what I had learned during my first year as an officer. I told him:

"When the Army says things are great; they are just good. When they say things are not good - they are FAR WORSE!!"

True of all the services, and the government , federal, state, and local. And I can understand it. To a point.

What really happened during the Trump years in the Trump administration and Republican Party, culminating in the attempted Coup d'Etat on 06 January 2021 - is FAR WORSE than what we all think we know.

Do you think it is about abortion access? That would imply principles that Repthugs simply don't have.

How about it being about waiting until Trump is installed so that Trump can appoint his own heads of military units, divisions, entire command structures; general officers who would not balk at securing voting machines, or being deployed to dispel protesters? Or more.

Jan. 6 was purely practice. They've now analyzed and seen the mistakes and holes in their plan, and they've been spending the past months and years putting the machinery in place so that those mistakes won't recur. We are in the midst of a slow-motion coup; the only kind of coup that could take place in this republic.

Plus, the real perps behind the attempted coup had already insulated themselves to the point where they are hidden behind the obvious clowns that tried to do their dirty work for them. Otherwise, Greene, Gaetz etc. would already be behind bars awaiting trial for crimes that carry the death penalty.
